Massachusetts Teacher Arrested for driving three teenage students to another state to buy bullets.
Fox News (TV) - Boston, MA Channel 25 | FR Post 21 MARCH 2002 | VANNROX

Posted on 03/22/2002 7:42:56 AM PST by vannrox

Just announced on FOX TV. I was unable to get the details, and I can't find it on the Internet Yet.

Summary is that there is a current High School Teacher who has been arrested. He is charged with a FELONY. His crime is that he was driving three high school students to a nearby state to purchase ammo. The report did not mention if he was the teacher of the students or not. The report did not mention the names or the ages of the students. The report did not mention in how the LAW got involved in this issue.

Does anyone have any more information on this?

This is not a hill that pro-2nd amendment folks want to die on.

Agreed. If this is really what happened and the aide did/should have known that the ammo was going to be used for a crime, he's not a 2A advocate at all.

Sometimes I have to scratch my head on these things. My 18 year son can go to Walmart and buy .22lr for a rifle, but not a handgun, .45 ACP or 9mm for a carbine, but not a handgun, and all the .308 win he wants. The idea of traveling across state lines to buy ammo seems like something that could happen only in another country.

Must take something else altogether to get the whacked-out anti-self-defense weinies howling, eh?

Isn't there a FR thread demolishing the ever recurring, yet spurious, "nuclear weapon" anti-RKBA screech?

Note that the headline totally misstates the case. The perpetrator was arrested as a felon in possession of ammo, not anything to do with transporting minors across state lines.

The only relevancy the headline has is that is how the felon was caught.

The title should read "Ex-felon MA teacher's aide arrested for illegal possession of ammunition". The original title does not accurately describe the situation.

Sarah Brady could've gone a little out of the way on her trip to Delaware and picked up the ammo for them.

This sounds like something out of a commie country. Is ammo banned in the state?

Sorry to say the United States has become the new USSR! However, many on this site have failed or refuse to admit that the USA is on the way to becoming a Police State/Communist country. Wake up folks!

Why not stop off at the local package store and pick up a couple of six packs and a bottle, each, of Jim and Jack? Then he could have tossed the keys to the car to the kids and told them, "have a good time."

This isn't a 2nd Amendment issue, this is a stupid teacher's aide trick.

Sorry, the title and the contect is all that I was able to make out from the News Blurb. I believe that it was stated in a period of 7 seconds. That is why I asked for more information.

A-men. What was this teacher thinking? I guess that for some on this forum, 2nd amendment comes before parental rights. Now that's a shame.

Can we bash you for jumping to conclusions? Or do you feel it's okay for a person to take someone's children without permission to buy them ammo?

Thanks for your post. I also am sick and tired of people bashing MA. None of them have even been here before. It's not perfect here, but it's not that bad either. Sure, you have your "fat boy" and "hotbottom barney" and some more but they wont be here much longer. Mass. is changing. Three Republician Govs. in a row and working on four. There is also 143 gun clubs and ranges with the average membership for each club about 1500. Membership at my club is 2800. Not bad but we have a long way to go in this state. Remember...It ALL started HERE!!!

Depends upon the parent. If they've earned my respect I'll inform them, otherwise I won't.
