Owl data knowingly faulty

Am I the only person who finds that headline grammatically odd?

Why not prosecute the person that signed off on the falsified data? Why do taxpayers have to pay for felonies performed by enviro_nazi data gathers? These quacks have caused too much pain and suffering for our farmers and ranchers.

Get the rope!

I'm impressed that the print media actually ran this story. Usually these stories only make it on-line.

Wonder why no one in DC has suggested that every nickle of these sort of settlements should come directly out of some other feel good mandated bit of social engineering?
Lie about spotted owls or "wild" coho salmon and pay for it out of money set aside for NPR, NEA, or any number of federally funded Gay/Lesbian/illegal immigrant/etc. support programs.
Otherwise, it'll come out of money that might possible be spent to benefit the entire country.
Well...maybe it would.

"Owl Data Knowingly Faulty"

Pay raises will probably be given...

Isn't there any way the public can force the government to fire these people?

The funny thing is that everyone who had half a brain recognized the whole spotted thing as bogus. Thank goodness there's an administration that isn't keeping this crap covered up...

As he drove through the forest, Mr. Verner said, "I had the feeling I was never outside a stone's throw of suitable foraging habitat at least."

"I said to a couple of fellows there, 'If there's not a pair of spotted owls occupying this site, I'll spring for a Chateaubriand for two.' I was that convinced that there's a pair of owls in there that has not, at this point, been detected yet," Mr. Verner said.

I dunno sounds like sound science to me...driving around in the forest (not in an SUV, fer sure) to see if you can get a feeling for whether there are spotted owls in the area...

"junk science"

We should all give a word of thanks to Judge Alex Kozinski of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals for the "Daubert v. Merrill Dow" decision, in which the good judge single-handedly drove a wooden stake though the heart of junk-science in the courtroom.

That Bush didn't nominate him to the supreme court is a crime.

The compensation to the timber companies, ranchers, farmers, et al, who suffered directly from the false data and junk science, does not remedy the damage suffered by communities, businesses, and individuals who have been adversely and permanently harmed by this environmental terrorism.

There are individuals in government employment who are criminally and financially liable, as well as some other individuals who perpetrated and/or profited from, these crimes against the people. Until some heads roll and some ill-gotten monies and assets are seized, it's not over.
