I was the recipient of a very pleasant surprise when I retrieved my weekly copy of the conservative newspaper, HUMAN EVENTS, from my mailbox a few minutes ago. On page 12, in Joe D'Agostino's 'Conservative Spotlight' column, my eye was caught immediately by a black-and-white photo of Free Republic founder Jim Robinson!
This is a very flattering article; Jim discusses the history of Free Republic; the mission statement; and the situation with the LAT/WP legal entanglement.
Please keep in mind that HUMAN EVENTS has a subscriber base approaching 50,000, and is read by a number of "movers and shakers" in the Washington area. Hopefully, this prominent article in HUMAN EVENTS will help swell the ranks of both posters and lurkers here at Free Republic!

I did a search on Human Events, Jim Robinson, and Free Republic, and came up with a blank. If this has already been posted, please delete this thread. In addition, I posted this to BREAKING NEWS, because I thought this would be of interest to everybody at Free Republic. (Unfortunately, this article does NOT appear to be posted at the Human Events website.)

JimRob's fight against the Times and the Post has got to be the most underreported (unreported) news story in ages. Where are you Michael Moore?...a little guy is taking on the conglomerates. You should be foaming at the mouth over this one.

I'll tell you where Moore is. He's firmly behind the LAT and WP. This man is about ideology. His whole schtick has been a ruse from the beginning.

(No online article available) True, but Freepers MIGHT be able to order this issue as a stand-alone...call the toll-free number and find out. If so, they can flag this issue as a SELL-OUT! (Personally; I would subscribe...Ann Coulter's column EVERY WEEK, among the best reasons!)
