I live in central Louisiana, about 90 plus miles from the Barksdale AFB, it might have been caused by lightening, since we had very heavy rain storms that occurred during night and early morning hours. I have not heard anything on the local news about this event, however. I will keep the local channel on to see if anything is reported later in the day. The fact that no news about this is being aired is very unusual.
There have been a number of news alerts so for today, like the truck turning over in NY and the shooting/hostage? incident and of course the closing arguments of the Andrea Yates trail, that has pre-empted eveerything else today, even the great Bush town hall meeting this morning, held in Pennsylvania, that CNN did NOT carry, but FOX did. I will follow-up is I hear anything about the fire at the AFB.

I smell conspiracy! "/sarcasm" tag or not, I hope you're happy - you've gone and done it now. You've given legs to this whole thing all over again.....geeze....
Going to go get my tinfoil now...

TRhe attic in this building is old and probably 100% wood.
They can't do any upgrade on alot of the buildings there because they are historic landmarks and protected. No upgrade and no renovations on some of them ! I'd bet this building has an open attic and no fire stops to stop the fire from spreading.

it might have been caused by lighteningI smell conspiracy! Were they destroying documents? Bodies? Is this where the REAL United flight 77 landed?
The coverup begins! Lightning??? HA! An act of nature - what a flimsy excuse!

Huh? An A1C as base spokesman? Has the AF run out of 2Lts? That struck me funny, too. What is a A1C? an E-4?

Good point I used to wipe out entire roofing companies when I yelled in to a Bull Horn...........
La Migra, Manos Ariba !!!.........when I was active duty. I did it to show my trainees what real SERE (Survival , Escape, Resistance, Evasion ) was gonna look like. This fire was possibly just a lowest bidder, minority owned renovation contract that had a counterfeit part problem .........
Stay Safe !

Has the AF run out of 2Lts?They still have 2Lts??? I thought 2nd anything was politically incorrect and degrading!
Reminds me of the old joke. The definition of gross incompetence=144 2Lts.

What is a A1C? an E-4?E-3 actually. Corresponding to a Private First Class in the Army, a Seaman in the Navy and a Lance Corporal in the Marines. Now you know.
