Predicted this yesterday, how far we are from the greatness of Johnny Carson and Steve Allen.

But Catholic League president William Donohue thunders, "CBS is out of its mind if it thinks it can get away with moving Howard Stern into the Letterman slot without a fight."

Donohue who plans to target one advertiser at a time, said, "No one in the entertainment business has angered more Americans than Howard Stern."

Except maybe William Donohue.

Now he’s wasting his time railing against a non-existent television show.

Get a job.

Look, Im a Catholic and all, but Donahue has just got to chill out. Let Howard rise and fall on his own ratings. But typically, these advertisers will fall for this drummed up "boycott" which, in reality, will be inconsequential (Haven't heard any negative effects from the supposed boycott of Toyota b/c of their capitulating to Jesse Jackson).

Most people have busy lives and don't care one way or another about these silly boycotts. Those who do have way too much time on their hands.

Look, the fact is that if I were a GOP candidate, I'd buy ads on Howard Stern's show and do appearances.

Why? Becuase politicians who do get elected. The Catholic League seems willing to take a far left Dem rather than recognize there are bigger fish to fry.

The term circular firing squad comes to mind.

It's funny to see all these people getting their panties in a knot over a show that doesn't even exist. Furthermore, if it did exist, they wouldn't watch it anyway.

Dear Mr. Donovan:

As a saddened and disgusted Catholic, you can count me out on ANY support for your objections to Mr. Stern. You and the church are absolute gutless hypocrites and cowards for not cleaning out the vermin who have infested the church and molested little boys...scarring them for life. Instead, the church, and Cardinal Law moved the degenerates around to other parishes, rather than holding them up to the same moral standards you expect from parishioners. So Mr. Donovan, F U !

A saddened member of the Catholic Church.

Donohue who plans to target one advertiser at a time, said, "No one in the entertainment business has angered more Americans than Howard Stern."

It's comments like that that fuel the fire of the Democratic Party demagogues and turn many voters off to conservative candidates, because the 'Rats make a connection between conservatives in general and censorship-happy nitwits like Donohue.

Go ahead, Mr. Donohue, advance your puritanical, holier-than-thou, and hypocritical (considering the pedophila allegations against many Catholic clergy) agenda. Tell Stern's viewers and advertisers that they're going straight to hell if they patronize an entertainer who's exercising his 1st Amendment rights. And then see how many leftist, anti-Catholic Democrats that your agenda helps get elected, because your goddamned puritanism scares voters away from conservatives.

codebreaker, I'm addressing this to you because it's your thread...but it's really addressed to all the folks who have decided to rail against Mr. Donovan and the Catholic League, and especially those who claim to be "Catholic."

For years, the entertainment industry, liberal educators, self-serving politicians, and their supporters have been "dumbing-down" the populace, insulting religious beliefs, and generally leading us further into the sewer!

Evidently, some of you believe this is justified because to complain against such obvious attacks would be "judgmental" behavior (or worse, infringes on the "rights" of the perpetrator). I suspect many of you think "someone" will step up to the plate to correct the problem...and, "by gosh when they do, they'll get my vote!" Oh, "but if they challenge me to think about my own participation in this moral slide to decay...I'll just sit here on my computer and trash them!"

..."I'm an adult! I expect to be treated like one! I can handle Howard Sterns despicable ranting...It doesn't matter to me! I'll just choose not to watch!" To all of you who think in such terms; Let me be clear:
You are moral cowards who are even more despicable than Howard Stern! You see a person (Stern) who is through his disgusting presentations is tearing down your very core beliefs, your faith, and your family...and you do NOTHING but "label as freaks" the very people and organizations that are trying to put a stop to the real problems associated with a declining moral standard!

Mr. Donohue and the Catholic League have stepped up to the plate! Thank God they have! They are involved in an endless struggle to overcome the corruption people like you allow to happen!

You all can go back now to ignoring the problems; Changing the subject by blaming "Cardinal Law" for every problem in the universe; And defending Howard Stern's right to fill your minds with garbage, while hiding from the idea that you have a responsibility, and duty, as an "equal citizen" under the law to register a protest against the corruption!
...Because, I'm sure someone you "approve of" will eventually take care of the problem so you don't have to bother about getting involved right now.

For the lukewarm … the message to the church of the Laodiceans (Laodicea means “rule of the people”) the final church in the book of Revelation . [Rev 3:14-22]

“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

church of the Laodiceans I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou were cold or hot

So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth

Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked--

I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches”.

Thanks for reminding me. I'll have to send another donation to the Catholic League. God bless William Donohue.

I think the Catholic League needs to get off its high horse and pull the anal beads out of its rear. If CBS wants to put that junk on the air great, we/they do not need to watch it. But it will fail because the only people who will watch it are, hopefully, lazy people without jobs, or teenagers.

Johnny Carson and Steve Allen.

Spent my childhood looking forward to being a grown-up one day and enjoying grown-up things.

Thanks to the infantile, peurile, self-centered perpetual adolescents at the tail-end of the baby boom, it was for naught.

I can get better "adult entertainment" and wit off a stall door in some sports stadium.

Here's an old clip from the Catholic League website about Stern. It shows the pathetic weakness of one who always mocks but can't take it when someone hits at them.

HOWARD STERN DISCOVERS BIGOTRY:
"we noted the umbrage that Stern took when he was made the victim of an anti-Semitic remark. It was reported to Stern that a media executive said that the reason Stern wears dark sunglasses is because "he wants to hide his beady Jew eyes cause they’re a window into his insecurity." Stern complained publicly that no one investigated this incident further, other than the TV show, Hard Copy."

Also, Stern has always hid behind the lie that he is half-Catholic/half-Jewish. This gives him cover for the hateful anti-Catholic garbage he spews:
JDL Image Awards

Although Stern is certainly very crude and profane, as a Catholic, I think the Church has its hands full now cleaning up after years of silly liberalism with the pedophiles, perverts and queers in its own buildings. They should concentrate on cleaning up our own glass house for now. That guy running the Catholic League in NY is almost as obnoxious, annoying, and pushy as Stern himself. Don't we have someone who can complain and speak English without spitting and turning red in the face?

I dislike Howard Stern with a passion, but I disagree with blackmailing people to get rid of him. This is exactly the same thing the gays did to Dr. Laura.
