Has anyone commented on the decision by the press to treat the tradgic deaths of nine servicemen in combat as a huge defeat for USA and victory for al Queda?? On the editorial page of The Wall Street Journal, Ralph Peters says, "In War, Soldiers Die". It doesn't seem to be posted, if the search engine is right . . .
"The press" (I object to that designation of journalism, which is not all of "the press"--and broadcast journalism is not "the press"), as you put it, is just doing what it always does to maximize its audience/readership. No matter how superficial an attitude that requires,
journalism always puts the most negative possible spin on its reportage.

Lott: "And as a matter of fact, Tom and I and the other leaders wound up in the place where this shadow government has been rotating in and out. I think that the secretary of the Senate, the sergeant-at-arms of the Senate, is aware of whats been going on there. This is a plan that was put in place back in Eisenhowers administration."Thanks for the complete quote! I was operating from memory.

"Could that something else be that Daschle knows that big media would bury his lies?"I think that Daschle knows darned well that the aging flower child holdovers from the '60's have no concept whatsoever of the plans put in place by our government years ago in the event of a nuclear holocaust.

Daschle Sgt Schultz This is outragous. If you insult Sgt. Schultz or John Banner again, I'm reporting this as abuse. Oh, sorry, it was the CIA guy that said it. Well, if HE insults Schultz again, I'm going to be mad, that's all.

In addition, the guest reported that the "shadow goverment" has been in place since '91.That's 1891, of course.

If Byrd were to become President,
through the death of Bush and Cheney,
he could appoint Daschle as his Vice-President and then resign.Voila---Daschle would be president (if the majority of both houses had approved of his nomination as VP)
Nixon appointed Gerald Ford and resigned later.
25th Amendment:
Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

I'd love to have a transcript of that Russert conversation in which he says "I didn't know WHERE I was." See angkor. He/she came up with the exact quote from Lott. Perhaps he/she has the Daschole answer, as well. It was very quick, and they went directly on to something else, leaving me with my mouth agape.

"I was screaming (well, TYPING IN ALL CAPS!) right here on FR when it became apparent that Lott had sold out the American public during the Clinton impeachment process by dealing out the possibility of a REAL trial."
Can appreciate that - there was a loud collective Freeper scream on Daschle.
What I do not understand, is how, why 'sheep senator' is still there.

"As for Daschle, he's just trying to find ANYTHING to complain about with the Bush Admin., and if the media is jumping on Bush about a 'shadow govt.', Daschle wants to make sure it looks like he's on the media's side of that! What a twit!"
. . .yes, but worse, he is an 'EVIL TWIT'. . .

maybe he thought they referring to him wearing the white robes of the KKK.
Gee I guess with so much happeing around him its getting harder to remember all the facts (or lies) and in which order it was said so that Bush looks bad.

Maybe Daschle wanted to pretend he hadn't been invited to the bunker so that he could be safe when
something fatal happened to everyone else in the bunker.
Maybe he hoped to be able to say, "Gosh, I'm lucky they didn't invite me to the bunker! "

You are right on the money!
What makes me wonder is this:
The Dems claim that Strom Thurmond is loosing it, at 90 plus.
He at least knows where he's been and certainly knows where he is!
Daschle is a piece of work, indeed.

I was happily surprised by Corzine not going along with dashole on bashing Bush with the war. Corzine is to dashole as R. Reiner is to little alec baldweanie. I may not like liberals but, I can respect the ones who put their money where their pie hole is.
