During the Impeachment of Billyjeff Clinton I e-mailed Drudge with a tip about the legal aspects, gleaned from my reading of the transcript of the treason trial of Aaron Burr. Drudge called me at home to get additional details, and then posted the story up on his site.
Since then I have e-mailed Drudge about once every six months, give or take, and only when I had a wrinkle that the lamestream media did not have yet. Every time, I reminded him we've met, and that he's used me for a source before. Every time there was no response. Zip. zero, zilch. Not even "Thanks for the tip."
So I know your philosophy in dealing with the press is correct. I've followed it with Drudge. But it doesn't work because his filter isn't working properly.
(Any time I have a clear opportunity to test the filter of a leader in government, press, whatever, I do. Sad to say, most of them have staffers who don't recognize a personal letter or e-mail that should get through. Occasionally, just occasionally, I get back a hand-signed note that shows that the person in question got and appreciated my message.)

This is the worst of the left's slimey atrocities. I may be one but never again should our brave young soldiers be given the abusive underhanded treatment the leftists gave our courageous soldiers in Vietnam.
From the manner in which Daschle and his band of sneering leftist banshees are wailing I fear they are gearing up for a negative campaign designed solely for the purpose of demoralizing our troops, our resolve, our support for President Bush and his war efforts, and causing disunity in our homeland.
This saddens me greatly. Daschle obviously thinks this is just a political game. He should know we are living in very dangerous and serious times. Our way of life is at stake. Our Freedom at risk. Americans do not have time for the silliness of his game playing and selfish maneuvering for his own political power.
Sometimes I think Daschle is running amuck where a more disciplined and honorable man would adhere to a principled approach to leadership. I tend to think Trent Lott is artically a weak man when it comes to standing tall for his party, but at least he has some class and lead the senate with dignity. With Daschle Americans get pure political grandstanding and folly.
These are very serious times and we need serious honest men and women in leadership positions.
• The Pentagon, the White House, the State Department, the Justice Department, the Capitol, the CIA and all other government buildings in Washington are evacuated.
• Federal Emergency Response Plan is implemented immediately after first attack, according to White House. All U.S. embassies and U.S. forces around the world are put on high alert. The highest alert is THREATCON DELTA.
• All federal agencies implement continuity plans to make sure U.S. government continues to function effectively.
• President Bush calls the crashes "a national tragedy." Later in the day, Bush issues a statement from Barksdale AFB near Shreveport, Louisiana. "Make no mistake: The United States will hunt down and punish those responsible for these cowardly acts."
• Secret Service secures President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert and key members of Bush's Cabinet and national security team. Air Force One lands in Omaha, Nebraska, and spokeswoman Karen Hughes says Bush is in a secure location.
• Mullah Omar, the Taliban spiritual leader, condemns the attacks and denies that Osama bin Laden, was responsible.
• Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef, the Taliban ambassador to Pakistan, says in reaction to the terror attacks that "we want to tell the American children that Afghanistan feels your pain and we hope that the courts find justice."
• In the first-ever national ground stop of aircraft, all flights nationwide are stopped at their departure airports.
• International flights are initially diverted to Canada; FAA says later, however, that 22 U.S.-bound international flights will be allowed to land.
• Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta tells FAA to suspend operation of all flights until at least noon Wednesday. He also issued orders controlling the movements of all vessels in U.S. waters.
• In New York, more than 10,000 rescue personnel rush to the scene. Evacuation of lower Manhattan begins.
• Israel evacuates all of its missions around the world.
• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta is evacuated. CDC prepares emergency response teams in case they become necessary.
• Senate Majority leader Tom Daschle, D-South Dakota, Republican leader Trent Lott, R-Mississippi, Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nevada, Sen. Don Nickles, R-Oklahoma, House Democratic leader Rep. Dick Gephardt, D-Missouri, and House Speaker Rep. Dennis Hastert, R-Illinois, were taken by helicopter to an undisclosed location.
• Philadelphia landmarks are evacuated.
• In Chicago, the Sears Tower is evacuated; United Nations in New York is evacuated.
• Two aircraft carriers and five other ships are deployed along the East Coast of the United States, and two aircraft carriers go to New York area, all from Norfolk, Virginia.
• The New York Port Authority closes all bridges and tunnels into the city.
• U.S. stock markets close after the New York attacks and will remain closed Wednesday.
• NATO sends home all non-essential personnel from its Brussels, Belgium, headquarters.
• The Immigration and Naturalization Service puts the U.S. borders with Mexico and Canada on highest state of alert.
• Los Angeles International Airport is evacuated.
• Disney closes its parks in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
• FEMA implements plan established for such events: FBI leads investigation and Justice Department heads crisis management. White House spokeswoman Karen Hughes says FEMA activates eight urban search and rescue teams in New York and four teams are at work at Pentagon.
• Three Palestinian groups -- Hamas, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Islamic Jihad -- deny responsibility for the attacks, but blame U.S. policies in the Mideast.
• Washington, D.C., and San Francisco declare states of emergency.
• A Delta flight makes emergency landing in Cleveland and all passengers are safely evacuated. Federal officials search the plane for a possible bomb.

What's up is the existence, in "DemocRATic potty data banks, of facsimiles of every one of the more than three thousand "Raw Data" FBI Files stolen for and by the RICO-Racketeering organized crime family which, between January 1993 and January of 2001, so squalidly squatted and bemanured the offices usually reserved for the executive branch of America's feral gummint.
And are the "the Hastert and Lott individuals afraid to speak up?"
You may safely bet your Mother's sacred honor -- and my Mother's -- that they are a shakin' in their shoes!!
If they can complain about a "Secret Government," wouldn't this be just as, or more, incidious: "A Secret Deal for the Presidency!!!?"
I dunno. To relieve .... ignorance, maybe?
Then again, maybe it's because Secretary Rumsfield likes to watch himself on the not the nine o'clock news?

Maybe they were not interested in giving out any more info than was necessary. Their other place of safety had been compromised in the early 90's by the Wash. Post. Daschle was with the other congressional leaders brought to a safe place during the attacks on 9/11. If he didn't know about the contingency plans for coverage of the govt. in case of an attack on Washington HE is STOOPID! THERE IS NO SHADOW GOVT.!! There have always been plans for what to do in case the top level of govt. was taken out in a surprise attack. This is just common sense and it is ludicrous that some folks have gotten all paranoid about it!
As for Daschle, he's just trying to find ANYTHING to complain about with the Bush Admin., and if the media is jumping on Bush about a 'shadow govt.', Daschle wants to make sure it looks like he's on the media's side of that! What a twit!
I don't have a lot of kind things to say about Burger, whom I worked for on one occasion. But in this response he demonstrated his humanity, and legitimacy. (Recall Gen. Buck Turgeson's colloquy with Dr. Strancelove about the ratio of men to women in the "mineshaft shelters" in Dr. Strangelove.)
