WHEN WILL AMERICANS GET IT????
3/3/02

Posted on 03/03/2002 6:18:34 AM PST by daapfe

I AM CURIOUS when will the american people open their eyes to the crazy and misguided ways of the democrap Party. I mean for the last 35 years the left has brought our country from a strong morally found country to a country of well fare and government hand outs, to anti americanism and disgusting policies. For one I think that if the democrats would step aside and let the republicans and libertarians have there way the country would be stronger and better then it has been in 35 years.. Democrats have had there shot.. And all we have for it is the lowest morals and class fighting we have seen in many years..It is time for all americans to open their eyes and let the republicans have a shot at making our country the great strong nation it use to be. We need only look at how the demonazis are treating GW now to realise their true colors. TO question GW at a time of war is a clear sign of DESPARATION. OPEN YOUR EYES AMERICA LET THE RIGHT SIDE HAVE A SHOT...

I like living in a Republic, with the checks and balances of divided government. It may be frustrating but it beats a autocracy or dictatorship, hands down.

I FORMAGGI
dal latte di buon pascolo
i formaggi più pregiati

Dal latte al formaggio
Formaggi e nutrizione

You're right, but the American people are not going to open their eyes because the media is biased and too many people are sheeple, believing whatever they are told or whatever their favorite celebrity says. And too many people want their government hand-outs or, even if they're not getting hand-outs now, they think they might need the hand-outs themselves someday so they want the "safety net" to be there. The media have done a great job of convincing people that to be a Republican is the most uncool thing in the world; that Republicans are a bunch of rich old white guys who want to starve babies, throw old people out into the street, who hate anybody who's not white, and who want to keep women downtrodden. Some people do wise up as they get older, but too many are not going to think for themselves. They'd rather just believe whatever they've been told.

to a country of welfare and government hand outs

Not much difference between Democrats and Republicans here. Only difference is that Republicans call it "compassionate conservatism."

Newt (whom I much admire) was the last national Republican to take a serious stab at reducing govt. But Newt blinked when Slick shut down the govt, and no significant Republican has had the guts to try again since. Probably because the majority of Republicans WANT a welfare state (i.e., SSI, student loans, farm subsidies, "disaster relief" to areas routinely hit by tornadoes, floods, etc.)

TO question GW at a time of war is

A GOOD THING.

Slaves never question their dictators. Free people should ALWAYS question their leaders.

I think that many Americans do "get it". I see the problem as far too many of us on the right side of the issues fail to get off their collective duffs when it comes to getting involved, especially on election day. For example: in the last election for mayor in the city of Houston, Texas I believe that the total number of votes cast was approximately 300,000. That number was out of a population of about 3,000,000. As a result, Lee. P. Brown was re-elected in spite of being perhaps the most inept, clueless and incompetent mayor to have ever existed in the City of Houston.

Until such time as responsible people start acting like they care about our country, we will continue to have the likes of DascHOLE, Kennedy, Feinstein, Hillary clintonov and the rest of that ilk gumming up the works of governance and defiling our Constitution.

It's really no more complicated than that.

Our children are indoctrinated from the first day they enter a public school with the falsehoods that compose the basis of every issue of the Democratic platform. If you're asking when the cycle will be broken, it will start with the reformation of the educational process in America, however that may be achieved.

I would suggest a national voucher program with the $ amount proportional to the taxes applied at the local level, then toll in the federal subsidies on top of that amount. This should more than compensate parents for a private school or funding for home schooling.

We'll have to annihilate the NEA and other educational associations at a political level quite some time before we can get this accomplished but it will happen as the exodus from the public schools continues and homeschooling and private school enrollment crescendo. Such liberal leaning associations will simply become insignificant.

Once the majority of children are provided with a meaningful education and rational thought process, the Democrats themselves will become insignificant..

Too many people have a vested interest in having the government take from the "rich" and give to them. That's why news articles always say "government" or "Federal" dollars, instead of the more accurate "redistributed taxpayers" dollars.

You want the democrap party to go away? Convince republicans to forget they ever heard about the idea of "Right to Life"(TM), and the democrap party will cease to exist within two years.

The problem is that most Americans WANT welfare -- they just don't want to call it welfare. Reagan called it a "safety net." Dubya called it "compassionte conservatism."

Newt was the last serious attempt to trim govt -- and even he only attempt a trim, albeit a serious trim.

But if Newt "scared" so many Americans with his "extremism," what hope is there for a serious govt rollback?

Americans love their pioneer image, but most modern Americans really want security and safety. They love "risking" on the market, and crow over their profits -- but scream for a govt bailout it the stock tumbles.

Rush hails Bush's tinny tax trim as though it represented a significant difference between the Dems and GOP. No wonder so many Libertarians are cynical about the GOP's "small govt" self-image.

And where is Bush on rolling back affirmative action? The GOP cold shouldered Ward Connerly, ignoring his attempts to stop affirmative action in Florida.

Well, FYI, Ward Connerly spoke at the California Libertarian Convention last month. The LP is wooing Connerly to switch parties from GOP to LP. Connerly hasn't said yes or no, but I hear from LP sources who were at the convention that Connerly is seriously listening to the LP. Connerly appears to be getting sick of the GOP's cold shouldering him.

Our national demographics reached a point of critical mass some time ago. We are now at the point where a small minority of the taxpayers carry the great preponderance of the financial burden required to support the behemoth-like government with its massive array of teats dangling from the underside,--- greedy little piglets shoving and pushing each other for the chance to suckle.

In the existing environment, calls for lower taxes can be seen a helping relatively few people. When these people are characterized as the "rich elite", it is easy to oppose general tax relief or smaller government as the "compassionate" position in terms of political ethics.

After all, it is well reported that a smaller federal government will result in renewed victimization of minorities, seniors having to eat cat food from garbage cans, and the deliberate starvation of children through out the country.

There is absolutely no reason to believe that the demographics of the national population, the pro-government, politically correct, "diversity" worshipping educational system, and the biased perspective of the national media will improve. In fact, the opposite will happen.

These components make possible the election of individuals who would be judged as weird aberrations in a more intelligent and sane environment--The Hillary Clintons, Barbara Boxers, Tom Daschles, etc.

There seems to be little hope for a return to sanity in the foreseeable future. Eventually, the current government by Ponzi-scheme will have to collapse under the weight of its own corruption. What will follow is, I submit, not at all clear.

As long as we have a liberal press, we will have a liberal country. I hope I see this turn around in my lifetime but I'm not holding my breath.

Better be wearing asbestos skivvies around FR making statements like that. The back-alley abortionist lobby, er, the "pro-lifers", will be all over you!

But seriously, Republicans have painted themselves into a corner with support for morality legislation. If they stick to economic issues, they'll win -- they should leave the moralizing for the reverends and priests.
