I am just curious I have seen so much drivel on the news about how the islamic world hates the west so much and in particular America. Well lets turn the tables on the liberal establishment. How many people in america, britian, and sensible european countries HATE ISLAM And the muslim world. For me this is such an easy question, since i was in High school in the 80s I have seen nothing but the Islamist hurting and killing americans, jews and europeans. Then to top it off when i am thirty with two precious daughters I see them murder three thousand + americans in a two and half hr period. IT is time to stop being so damn nice to these evil SAVAGES, The islamist make Hitler look like a boy scout our what ever little sick institution the germans had. Well enough said I want input from people please I dont want to feel like a lone dove here. Cause I hate islam and everything to do with it. IMHO

Islam has it's extremists????????? Hell, friend, get your head out of the sand!!!!!!

Sure, they have a extremist element. This element is their ARMY! It is their fighting force!(similar to the IRA wing that represent the political arm of same) They worship and revere their martyred bombers!

Sadly, it will probably take another major attack on our soil to wake up the sheeple.

I sure hope it isn't a nuke power plant!!! I've got one 45 miles away!

No, you certainly are not alone. Remember and take into account that the administrations public policy cannot indicate that they are against all Mulims. (for obvious resons) They are not in the business of declaring religious wars.(and never will be)

Be content in the knowledge that you have it right!

Islam has its extremists, but so does every religion (with the possible exception of Zen Buddhists;...

I am always speaking for those conservative virtues of prudence and civility, but not at the expense of careful analysis of the specifics.

It does appear that your take is meant to minimize the threat or perception of extremists in Islam by saying that they have a equal small percentage of this trait as compared to all other religions. That is probably not the case.

My reading is that Islam has a couple of factors which make a larger percentage of their followers both fundementalist and reactionary. The first factor is that the Islam is percieved to be the full and complete word of God as given directly to the Prophet. It not a piecemeal revelation to prophets and apostles over time as the other monothesitic religions are formed. They believe no further revelation or is coming forth or needed...it is perfect in itself. Christianity, for example, has the Holy Spirit portion of the Trinity as "God with us" to carry us ever forward in preparation....Islam has no such corresponding component, IMHO and my reading.

Thus, all modern efforts are viewed as hearesy to a point beyond views held by the other religions.

I encourage people to read what this has done to the culture in the Arab lands and their whole society. This looking backward to the Koran in all things and backward to the great age (for their cultural view) of the Prophet does not allow them to make the steps to the freedom of beliefs that is basic to our other freedoms.

Actually, Mr. Emerson was on Alan Keyes' show last night, but either he didn't talk much or I was falling asleep.

If you're implying that he was boring, then I hope it's the latter and you were just really sleepy. What Steve Emerson says is not boring in the slightest. In fact, it's absolutely riveting. If you're predisposed not to believe the message about the amount of extremism here in our own country from islam, then maybe you should find his book "American Jihad" and do some reading when you're not tired.

IMHO, Islam represents the biggest threat to the civilized world since the spread of communism. Even worse than that. While we were preoccupied fighting the "reds" for the last half century, the Islamists were quietly taking over other parts of the world (India, Indonesia - previously Bhuddist countries), and continue to do so today.

Sure, there are those who live peaceful lives among their countrymen and wish no harm to anyone. But I believe the majority of Muslims are ticking time bombs. Indoctrinated at early ages and ready to go off into jihad mode.

It must be stopped.

A few terrorists? There are estimates by Daniel Pipes, a noted expert, that 10-15% of the moslem world is extremist

Some days I think 10% of Freepers would take up arms against the US if they thought they could get away with it. Ten to fifteen percent is a minority. Are we to "nuke" 1.5 billion because a few are totally screwed up?

And when it comes to arabs in the US, remember most US arabs are Christian, not Muslim. This is especially true for those that have been in this country for 25 years or more. Also only about a third of the Muslims in this country are arabs. Roughly a third are black and a third asian. Toss in a few Johnny Jihads and there you have it.

Speaking at the American Enterprise Institute not long ago, former Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, warned that "Islamic militants have irrational goals, the conquest of the world, and the taming of mankind to rules that are against human nature." Communists, he noted, had similar goals but pursued them "rationally." The Muslims, however, "may very well choose destruction. And this pathological streak is what makes militant Islam so dangerous. We are faced with enemies that, if they acquire weapons of mass death, will use them. Be absolutely confident of that."

Well, 10-15% of what is the moslem population of the world? That is not a tiny figure! The moslems have never stopped believing that islam must be the world's religion. I'm talking about centuries of this belief. They were stopped at the gates of Vienna in 1683 (the date was in fact Sept 11) and if they had gotten through Vienna, Europe would itself now be moslem.

They were slowed down for a century or 2 after that, but now with increased access to mass transportation, they're back in the game. Don't be fooled by them. Do some reading by some writers like Emerson and Pipes. Honestly, the goal of islam is to make all of us moslems, and to have islamic republics in every country of the world.

And in spite of the media outcry, Bush was absolutely correct to call this a crusade, for it's in fact a continuation of what Europe had to do in the middle ages.

No wonder I like Netanyahu.
In my own inexpert way, he's saying what I've thought since 9-11.
The USA actually lucked out to have the USSR/Russia as it's main opponent in the Cold War.
My naive guess is that the last vestiges of Orthodox Christianity that the Soviets
failed to squelch may well have stayed their hands from pushing the button and
starting Nuclear Armegeddon.

I don't sense the same sort of reticence in militant Isalm.

quantitave reasons provided in part by media elites.

True.
With the new alternate routes for widespread dissemination of information,
the media elites are forced to at least, on occassion, tell more of the whole story.
Just enough to keep enough people watching their broadcasts on ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN etc.
And to keep from being inundated by FOXNews (which isn't perfect either).

Please don't spout this kind of hatred and claim to be a Christian.

Chilling thoughts, but if the US doesn't wake up and listen to someone like Netanyahu who has not only experienced it but has also lived it then there will be many sad days to come.
