Boy, the Russians and Koreans have reeeaaallly put a damper on what the Olympics is supposed to be about. Sarah Hughes earned that gold medal and should be having the time of her life and the Russians are being jerks and trying to spoil it. (Sigh) That's just wrong.

That is interesting. On the Olympics program on TV when they do the two-man, they called it bobsleigh, then last night on the 4 man they call it bobsled. I wonder what the difference is, if there is any. This is the first Olympics I recall it being referred to as bobsleigh. Odd, eh?

Bode Miller stands in second in the slalom after the first run, 3/10ths behind the leader (a French skier) and more than a whole second ahead of third place. Its between Bode and the Frenchie for the Gold on the second run. My money's on Bode -- he gets much better on second runs and the French guy nearly fell on his first run then went hell-bent-for-leather and managed to hang on. I think the French guy won't be able to be so loose the second time around when he has a narrow lead.

There is no difference between bobsleigh and bobsled. That was one of the questions that was posed on the Today Show and the answer they gave was that the other countries call it bobsleigh while the Americans call it bobsled. I don't get it though. I never heard it called bobsleigh until this year.

Thanks. I didn't see an explanation on the Olympics website, but I thought that might be the case.

Getting kind of sick of whiners and poor losers. Good Lord, these counties remind me of Democrats.

The U.S. alpine team as a whole has not skied up to their potential at this Olympics, ironically. But Bode is the exception, and a gold will top off a great Olympics for him. Guys like Schlopy and Rahlves and women like Lalive need to step up to give our alpine team the depth that the Austrians and Norwegians enjoy. We have the star (Bode), but our depth needs to stand up.
