The first boycott has started, the Russian Parliament has voted 417-0 for the Russian athletes to skip the closing ceremonies.

The U.S. alpine team as a whole has not skied up to their potential at this Olympics, ironically. But Bode is the exception, and a gold will top off a great Olympics for him. Guys like Schlopy and Rahlves and women like Lalive need to step up to give our alpine team the depth that the Austrians and Norwegians enjoy. We have the star (Bode), but our depth needs to stand up.

Ugh. Bode misses a gate! The U.S. Alpine team was hoping for at least two golds and four medals and ends up with two silvers. Very disappointing for U.S. skiers. Instead of stepping up, we fell down on the home snow. What a bummer. The U.S. does great at these Olympics overall, but the Alpine skiers did quite poorly.
