Face off 6:15 ET on CNBC.
That weekend was a special moment for the country.
I AGREE! I actually AGREE with Dane! Do you believe in miracles? YES!
I even wrote about it, at the time, in my little journal. I was in the 7th grade, I lived with my Mom and sister, and watched the game all by myself. I ran around the house screaming with tears in my eyes. I have never been so excited ... not even when I got my very own telephone for Christmas the next year. What a great great feeling that was.
Couldn't let the chance to say "I agree with you" go by without the recognition it deserves.
And one of them, Mark Johnson, was a Minnesotan just like eight other players and the head coach. That was probably the greatest sports day in the history of our state.
And yet, when you think of the 1980 team you think of Eruzione and Craig, both from Massachusetts. But that team wouldn't have been anywhere without Johnson, Neal Broten, Steve Christoff and old Buzzy Schneider, the pride of Babbitt, Minnesota!
Okay, but if you guys lose, please take it easy on the hotel room. The cleaning staff are human, too...
Classless buffoon.
Well, I figured that NBC would run excerpts threaded throughout their coverage, so the suspense element would still be there. Turns out they ran the whole thing which isn't surprising considering the marquee value of this event.
I love these live threads, though. I just wait until the events begin and wade cautiously into what is by then an hours-old thread and read the comments as the event unfolds. What drives me nuts is the outcome posted front and center as the title of the thread.
I still want to be able to FReep in the hours before and during the event without having the surprise spoiled. The people in the Eastern time zone have that luxury, I think those of us out West ought to have same.
Lovde your optimism!!
Congrats to you Svoloch19, for your display of class and sportsmanship.
