A Project of the American Family Association
Purpose
Dads, are you fed up with the sewage the networks are sending into our homes in the name of entertainment? Are you concerned about the negative effect the networks and sponsors are having on our children? If so, we urge you to become a member of OneMillionDads.com. This campaign was started to impact the decision-makers at the major television networks. Our goal is to stop the intentional exploitation of our children by those networks through the mechanism of grassroots, online activism using e-mail as our primary tool.
Our aim is to register 1,000,000 fathers who will join with us in this effort. When you work alone the networks, stations, sponsors and Federal Communications Commission ignore you. But can you imagine the clout you have by joining hands with one million other dads?! The networks, sponsors and stations will no longer ignore you, or laugh at you with contempt. Your voice will no longer be considered insignificant and unimportant!
YOUR VOICE WILL BE HEARD! THEY WILL LISTEN! AND CHANGE!
Can you imagine the reaction a sponsor, station or network will have when they receive a million e-mails concerning their programming!?!
Take a stand for your children! Join OneMillionDads.com today! After you join, help us find other dads who are fed up with TV trash and are ready to get involved.

Maybe they will listen. Maybe nobody will. But I'm game to try. I signed up. When they have enough people registered, they'll start the activism.
FReepers? Sign up at their Web page today.
Shalom.

sewage the networks ... I agree - I have given speeches on this subject and nearly everyone agrees with me (will they get rid of their TVs - I don't know)
I'm not a Father (maybe I should get busy) but I am an Uncle and a Godfather!
To: WhiteGuy
besides they probably hate "Glutton Bowl" I was wondering when someone would mention "the Glutton Bowl" today.
Gross, but fascinating.

You can join even if you aren't a father. OneMillionDads was just a clever name (taking off on the Million Mom March). Women can even join.
Shalom.

No of course not,
We have rules about what can be watched and when,
we also have rules about what cannot be watched and why.
Is it 100% effective? I doubt it, but I'm still responsible for what goes on at my house.

but I can handle the monitoring of my kid's TV viewing. No man is an island alone unto himself.
We must take a stand for the culture that we inherited. It is nearly lost, but we can regain it.
Otherwise you will be monitoring your kid's TV viewing from inside a sewer.
Shalom.

Do you have to be a dad, for I wouldn't mind signing up. Does future dads count?
To: WhiteGuy
That's kind of a selfish attitude. What about the millions parents who don't monitor their kids?
They are public airwaves and the stations have a obligation and responsibility to clean up their act.
To: ArGee
These Dad's better not mess with The Family Guy or The Sopranos!
I suggest that they pay attention to their kids and watch tv with them.
Better yet, play a game, read a book.
But again, this is parenting. But they must not, can not, mess with the shows I like!
