WOMAN ARRESTED FOR AIDING ARABS IN DRIVER'S LICENSE SCAM PRESUMED DEAD
WLAC RADIO NEWS | 2-11-02 | SELF

Katherine Smith, a Memphis driver's license examiner who was arrested for selling Tennessee driver's licenses to 5 Middle Eastern men is apparently dead. Ms. Smith's family had not heard from her in two days when they received word that her car had been involved in a fatal one car accident near the Mississippi/Tennesse state line.

The victim inside was burnt beyond recognition and the body was transported to the Memphis medical examiners office in an attempt to identify the body. At this point it is assumed that the body is indeed of Katherine Smith.

We have no evidence either way... but my gut instinct is that this is no accident

Perhaps Bill Clinton was one of the driver license recipients?

gg, Collierville is the small town where my family spent five years of our lives. My daughter graduated high school there. We owned a record shop there called the Disc and Tape. We left there in 76. Boy that seems like a million years ago. I had a wreck there too. Was turning left into my own driveway when a car came over the hill behind me without lights and doing over 100 MPH. Two drunks...they hit me and took the front off my VW bus and left me sitting with the steering wheel in my hands and a bump on my head. They rolled over five or six times, separated the body from the frame of their car and walked away.

Why was the body sent to Shelby County?

Shelby County is a large urban county, and Collierville is in the next county to the east, Fayette. Fayette County is more rural and bedroom community oriented. Shelby County will be better equipped for forensic pathology. The City of Memphis is in Shelby County, but the city and county have separate governments.

This was the lead story on the Nashville 10 pm news. They said dental records would be used to attempt to ID the body. They also said it was a very suspicious wreck because the car was incinerated on the inside, but the gas tank, engine and outside of the car did not burn.

The local TV station here in Nashville is reporting that the death is suspicious because the engine and gas tank of the car did not burn, only the interior where the body was found.

Isn't that Gore territory?

Nah, not Shelby County. The city of Memphis went for Gore, but those living in the county are overwelmingly Republican.

"had not heard from her in two days when they received word that her car had been involved ..."

But the article doesn't say a thing about the most obvious thing you check ...WHO OWNED THE CAR? YOU said it was "her car," but the article doesn't. Everyone's been tiptoeing around the owner of the car. That's got to be pretty easy to check, right?

There must be something more than her non-appearance that would lead an investigator to suspect that she might have been the victim in this "accident." What led them in this direction? Car registration? Article doesn't say.

BTW, the term, "burned beyond recognition" is an old one meaning that the corpse couldn't be recognized upon cursory viewing. It has been in use far longer than the existence of other tools which can air the identification. I wouldn't put much stock in the term "beyond recognition."

But I WOULD suspect, as several have said, a "Ford Stink." If there is ANYTHING AT ALL in this woman's behavior that could be even remotely linked to anyone within the Ford Sphere (and that includes just about every last patronage employee - and especially party loyalists) then you can bet that nothing more than is known tonight will ever be published nor a trial held.

The tentacles are still in place, ladies and gents. An election and term limits don't do anything to disturb the Dixie Mafia. This gal knew more than she'd already said, and she sang so sweetly a lot of people got very afraid. My guess.

I'm betting it was an flammable explosive detonated by remote control. At quarter past midnight on a lonely road, there are unlikely to be witnesses.

Maybe the next bureaucrat in a driver's license bureau will think real hard before they even consider an offer to issue an illegal license under the table.

H-yell no! They's just be waitin' for the Bandit to come flyin' by in his black Trans-Am.

Actually, the Bandit and the Snowman didn't go through Tennessee, they would've never gotten that Coors to Georgia on time having to go through the Tennessee mountains. You need to bone up on your Southern history. :^)

Not necessarily a hit....one car accidents are a prime means of committing suicide such that insurance policy suicide provisions do not get activated. Most often it can only be classified as an "unattended death."

Much like the missing scientist who's car was found on the bridge and assumed to be a jumper and then it was decided that he somehow accidently fell over the railing as he got out to check his car for damage from a mile back?

Someone enlighten me, to what end would the media ignore this? Are they trying to hide something about the terrorists here?

One thing that is ugly in this is that it shows corruption in government. The sooner that we forget that there were accomplices on the public dollar who aided them (even if it was just for money and not ideology), the less likely that these kind of stories will break out to remind us of this.

I know there are ways to id a body, but the article said that the body had been burned beyond recognition. To me, this means that the authorities either are not bothering to id it positively or there was nothing left but ashes. You're right, though the dentition might still be intact, or it might be just a bunch of loose teeth.

Call me paranoid, but why do I suspect the victim might have been dead, before the crash?

There is a good chance that this woman was "executed" for assisting illegals in getting drivers' licenses. She was not executed by the state, she was apparently executed by her "customers" so she wouldn't talk about them.

THAT's how important illegals and potential terrorists consider the obtaining of illegal drivers licenses.

How seriously to state legislators consider the issue? Well, several states now PERMIT illegals to get licenses, and one numbskull legislator in California has introduced a bill to allow ALL of California's 1 million illegals to get licenses. Then, they can take that to any other state, and be licensed anywhere.

Don't these state legislators read the papers? Don't they know a war is going on? Don't they know how and when it started?

The speculation is obviously that this was a hit.

The connection is not missed, but what would be the motivation for a "hit?"
