I’m this close to leaving the ECUSA because of people like this. What is wrong with these people?

Get out while you can. Remember Lot's wife! Let the dead bury the dead -- the living have work to do!

A non-Christian friend wisely summarized my sojourn in the United Methodist Church as follows: "Tom, you're like a man who sees a freight train heading for a cliff, and you don't know the first thing about freight trains, but you're determined to jump on board and turn it around!" People in revolt against Truth, and the Lord of Truth, rarely really rally to the banners of sanity and saintliness!

Sadly, it all boils down to one thing - the heart of man is deceitful above all things. If an individual listens to a 'heart' that has not been cleansed and is being guided by the Holy Spirit, that person will naturally be deceived.

I agree we should fight this nonsense with all our might, but we should also always hang on to the knowledge that, in His time, God will put all things right.

Well, you'll get a hearty welcome if you "swim the Bosporus" when you leave ECUSA. Kind if makes me wonder why you haven't left already. (About 1/3 of the clergy in the Southwest Region of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese are former Episcopalian priests who saw the writing on the wall long ago, and fled the apostacy of that body for the bossom of the Holy Orthodox Chruch.)

I'm down wid dat.

PS -- do you remember that old Monty Python routine? I don't remember a lot, except that the guy would preface everything with "We want — no, we demand...."

Just think a few short hundred years or so ago these folks would have summarily rounded up and burned at the stake for heresy. BTW History is replete with the fact that this is really the only way to handle this sort of problem. What say you?

And if you study your history you'll learn that this was the result of the merging of the Church with the State (quite a leap from having the state recognize that Judeo-Christian moral traditions are the foundation of this nation), thereby making heresy and treason synonymous.

What say you?

I say people who ignore the threats to their nation, internal as well as external, are fools.

We call them "heretics."

But ... but ... that so judgemental!!! If you do that, you might lower their self-esteem, or make them feel marginalised. We must respect our diversity!

Bleurggghhhh....

Good answer, I concede this point.

I was once attacked by the crack Judean suicide team. (alas, they didn't make it, but they fought bravely)

Seriously though. Isn't this article really from the Onion? People can't possibly be this twisted and still be alive can they? If so, at least all the anti-Christ type groups are now gathered under one roof. (I love big gatherings, makes nice red abstract pictures when the anti-personnel bombs go off)

God Save America (Please)

"We will not sacrifice one agenda for the sake of the other," Regas asserted. "We boldly set forth our affirmation of gay marriage as part of God?s design which we will bless before the throne of Almighty God."

God's design does not include putting square pegs in round holes, or vice versa.

The moment I see an ELCA representative in this filth, me and a certain pastor are going to have a talk.

They rebel against God's Word and against His natural law, Clint. Maybe it's time for you to apply the Biblical laws of separation. They are not going to turn aside from this path. If your own church can't make a stand against them, you probably need a new church.

It's time to write off the liberal mainstream denominations. If enough people will leave them, they will be unable to support their properties and pension funds. Their churches will be up for sale. Some individual congregations need to get tough with their apostate leadership. If enough of them would do this, there still might be something that could be salvaged from these once Christian churches.

It's up to the membership now. The leadership is betting that they can put the radicals into the pulpits and overthrow Christian teaching entirely. They're betting that you and others will just stay and continue to support them while making a certain amount of protest for a while.
