If so, then you have a lot of decisions to make! The SUV Info Link is here to give you more information, so that you can decide what type of vehicle matches your needs. The vehicles we drive today will greatly influence the safety of our roads and the quality of our environment. Purchasing an SUV can be expensive -- adding thousands of dollars in gas bills and operating costs over the life of the vehicle. For these reasons, Friends of the Earth wants you to get the facts about sport utility vehicles......

It starts here

This header is followed by a sidesplitting concatenation of lies and distortions that only such nuts as the Friends of the Earth could come up with. Amongst their main quoted "scientific sources" is the industry hack group the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Even though these clowns are serious about their site, it still belongs in the Humor section. Enjoy some good laughs. There are plenty to be had here.

It's too late for help from the Greenies in choosing which SUV to purchase since I just purchased mine last week. Oh, what a feeling!

I just got one of those big Navigators, and it is great! It gets only 16 miles to the gallon on the highway, and about 9 in the city. But who cares, gas is so cheap now that I, like many SUV owners, simply dump unburned gasoline into the nearest stream! And the Navigator is excellent when you hit deer on the road - barely a scratch, while the animal is killed instantly and humanely! The Navigator also has a detachable waste tray - when you fill it up, just dump it out the window - you don't even have to stop. I smoke inside my Navigator too, and often I'll eat a nice steak and cheese sandwich inside as well. I don't eat the french fries because they are vegetables, so I just toss'em out the window with the cigarette butts. Yesterday my trash landed inside of a convertible VW - it was green, so I though it was a little dumpster. The person inside was angry with me - and I noticed they had a Friends of the Earth bumper sticker!

I own a 1998 Chev K2500-HD, with bash plates, dual batteries (vital when exploring Utah deserts), tow package, etc. 15 MPG highway. Travels at 80 in total comfort. Carries all my guns! Squashes Mitsubishis with aplomb. Handy for rescuing Ford Explorers (it's amazing how many people think a Ford Explorer is capable of going off road) when they inevitably get stuck in the desert. Love it!
