Robert Reich's Bid For Mass. Governor May Fold Today
The National Journal and The Boston Herald ^ | February 2, 2002 12:35 EST | The Hotline's 'Weekend Scoop' Political Tip Sheet Staff

Posted on 02/02/2002 8:49:29 AM PST by umbra

Democrat Governor hopefuls Thomas Birmingham and Treas. Shannon O'Brien 'will flex their grassroots political muscle' in today's local Mass. Democrat caucuses.

50 thousand activists will select 'more than' 3,900 delegates for the June 2002 nominating convention.

Those delegates along with the 1,147 elected and party officials will 'determine who among the five candidates' will make it to the 9/02 primary ballot.

Birminghan and O'Brien 'are expected to dominate,' while ex-DNC chair Steve Grossman, ex-state Senator Warren Tolman and ex-Labor Secretary Robert Reich 'scramble to clear' the 15% threshold to make the ballot.

One or two of the candidates 'may fold their campaigns' after a poor showing, with both Tolman and Reich 'at risk.'

You've heard of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The 2002 governor's fight could yet come down to The Dwarf and the Four Snow Whites.

Howie Carr from the Boston Herald yesterday...

Have you seen Immanuel on any of the news shows? He looks like he's dying of something. Of course, it could just be a disease of the soul.

I've noticed the same thing. Dead lifeless eyes and a gaunt face. Must be the joy in him shining through.

Maybe he could move to Florida and take over from Reno. Or maybe she could hire him to stabilize her when she is erect. You'd hardly see the little fella, standing there, pushing with all his might...

What's the difference? Reich, O'Brien, Birminghan they're all clones of each other. Tax and spend and take from the productive to give to the non-productive. Who cares who gets the nomination? Hopefully none of them will win the general election.

Reich represents Unions, the "working poor", AND the lollipop guild? Now that's progressive.

Thanks for the post...I meant to blow some smoke up your skirt for your usual brilliance (Reich/lollipop), but got side-tracked. You really are the best and always make me scream/laugh/spit/snort.
