Poor Peter Jennings. Trying desperately in vain to get a focus group to say something negative about Bush following his speech last night. Unfortunately, for poor Peter, he failed completely in his desperate effort to mine something....ANYTHING negative out of that focus group.

How many people thought the President deserves his more than 80 percent approval rating?
What an odd question. What does "deserve" have to do with anything?

Did he accuse the focus group of throwing a temper tantrum (ala the '94 elections)?

To me, this is a non-issue (your title emphasis, that is). Who cares if they're trying to "get people to say something negative about Bush?"

What're you gonna do--fly an airplane into 30 Rock or whatever they call that place?

To me the more interesting aspect of this article is that Jennings was trying to play up Enron. I listened to the speech last night on NPR (sorry, I was listening to classical music when they broke in with the SOTU).

There also, the commentators including the ever-present radical Leftist Daniel Schorr, yammered on about Enron, NOT ONCE making reference to the fact that the Democrats have MUCH more to lose if Enron is dragged out by the VLWC, than the Republicans do.

I hope Rush Limbaugh's correct: That this is going to blow up right in McAuliffe's face.

The morning "news" shows are still slinging the Enron mud--hoping it will stick.

Enron = quagmire--for the media! They are stuck in it.

I started off watching Peter Jennings, but couldn't hear what was going on for Jennings talking over it. I switched over to NBC to watch the rest of the State of the Union Address.

I'm afraid they will have some success with the Bush Recession BS tho. Very few realize that this is just the fraudulent economy of the 90's finally having to address reality.

Not that I don't doubt this was his intention, but what about this. Jennings was asking these questions to show the us that Bush IS doing a good job and he wants to keep Bush's high support going?

(Running for cover.)

A liberal press grows ever more desperate.

And shrill.

It seems to me that reps have to introduce 'Clinton buble burtst' expression into talk show speak.

Another thing I would love to see is to use word 'controversial' when talking about any dem proposal.

They should not put any emphasis on the thing, no justification, if asked why they are using these words, just say 'this is my opinion'. Unfortunately reps on talk show circuit have no spine to do it.

Somebody should tell these idiots at ABCNNBCBS that their job is ultimately to help make everyone work together as Americans. The leftwing controlled highly democratic press is the discord enabler and is what causes the fight between democrats and republicans, liberal vs conservative, male vs female, white vs minority. These idiots should be asking what can democrats do to help the nation and help the President help solve the nations hardest issues. The press should be looking for ways to bring people and parties together and not create eternal friction between everyone. Fox has come the closest of all the networks to actualy letting both sides have equal time in discussing their message and letting the honest debate without bias or gimmics decide what is the truth for those that will accept the truth. No wonder Fox has passed CNN and will soon be the number one network viewed by all.
