The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic is hosting a welcome dinner/gathering for our FRiends who are traveling from across the country to CPAC this Wednesday night at the Crystal Gateway Marriott at 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway (enter on South Eads Street).
Please join us in the Sports Bar at 7:30 p.m. to meet old FRiends and start new friendships before the hectic three-day conference begins. Depending on whether the service has improved there, we may decide to move to a restaurant in the Underground, so please try to arrive before 8 p.m.
If you live in the area, but are not attending CPAC, you can still meet FReepers at the hotel in the lobby, restaurant or bar any time from Wednesday night through Saturday afternoon.
Also, after CPAC ends Saturday afternoon, the D.C. Chapter invites you to come to the memorial knoll off South Parking at the Pentagon to pay tribute to the victims and heroes of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Feb.2 - Saturday. I had planned to go to the Pentagon with all of you, but today plans changed. Jim (better half) is coming down on Friday. We had planned to be at a Grandkid's hockey game in Leesburg on Sunday, BUT - he is playing on Saturday instead - At 2PM. So, I'll be leaving about 1PM.
I have a ticket for the Friday Banquet, but Jim plans to loll around in the hotel and enjoy the amenities (bar).

Har - "the City" means NYC - and unfortunately I won't be in that "town" near Virginia this weekend ;)

I know. That's why I asked if you'll be there on the 2nd. I'm torn between attending CPAC that day or a road trip to stand with my fellow FReepers against the Commies.
To: kristinn
The subhuman swine who will be getting together in NYC are not worth your time, mister. Go to CPAC.
To: Senator Pardek
I'll probably end up at CPAC, but my heart will be in NYC. Those roving bands of urban terrorists need to be stood up to. I'd be there for sure if it wasn't this weekend.

Hi, kristinn. Do you know how to get to the hotel from the Tyson's Corner/Vienna area? That's where I'll be coming from. I'll try and make it by there.
To: Badray
I look forward to it, Badray.

Come 10 a.m. tomorrow, I'm out like a fat kid in a dodge ball game, and on my way to Sodom on the Potomac. Looking forward to it.

HI, Dixie! long tiome,no see.
BTW, did you hear that japaneseghost & i got booted off the Pentagon grounds for showing the SC & US flags, as well as a "wanted poster" of OBL, while standing vigil for our dead?
the Pentagon Police officers evidently thought our state flag was a "moslem banner"! i couldn't believe they were THAT ignorant/intolerant. they threatened japaneseghost& i with arrest, if we didn't leave.
for SC & dixie,sw
To: kristinn
We could use you in NYC on Sat.
To: Taxman; stand watie
See above post from s/w - I always told him that SC flag looks like it is Middle Eastern;-) Still, the LOE's should have known better or just asked. We have never had that problem before, in fact just the opposite, they often came up and chatted and relayd support.
s/w - where they uniformed DOD civilian, active duty military or VA State Police?
