Yup, I noticed the same thing.
Also unconfirmed rumours that the Enron exec who offed himself was shot in the back of the head, perhaps twice.

This one might be smart enough to tell them what they want to allow to be heard. If not he won't last long.

Are they talking to Senate investigators or FBI? IMHO there is a big difference. One is for dough and the other is for show.

Clearly when the body went to the morgue, somebody saw something inconsistent with suicide. BTW, the results of the autopsy, where are they?
To: umbra
That could explain why Cliff Baxter was done in. He would have been the witness for the prosecution and woud not have needed an immunity deal. With Baxter dead, the position is wide open.

Let the feds go further into the money loaned this swindling bunch of high rolling criminals. The bankers and money lending institutions must have been deaf and blind. Why did the Import Export Bank loan this house of cards company money? Mrs Christopher Dodd traveled to China and helped Enron secure loans while working as First VP of Import Export bank? Her husband serves on the Banking Committee? Ex Treasury Sec. Rubin calling for Enron? Why? Citicorp loaned the house of cards huge amounts. What did the repeal of the 1933 Glass-Steagall have to do with any of this?

A statement yesterday by VP Cheney has gone virtually unnoticed. After saying the GAO will not get what they want, he said if there was any malfeasance in office it will be dealt with. He didn't say, if our folks have done something wrong, etc, etc. I believe the Justice Department is engaged is a full scale investigation going back to the point that Enron's business really took off. If this is the case, there are many in the previous administration who should be very worried.

Is that possible for a guy to shoot himself in the back of the head once and get the 'job' done , let alone twice?
A misfire with an automatic weapon??

I would assume it's the DOJ. Can Congress grant immunity? Congress should stay out of this mess. It's bound to screw it up. Hope the DOJ and SEC get to the bottom of this and fast. I'm sick of hearing about it.
