A statement yesterday by VP Cheney has gone virtually unnoticed. After saying the GAO will not get what they want, he said if there was any malfeasance in office it will be dealt with. He didn't say, if our folks have done something wrong, etc, etc. I believe the Justice Department is engaged is a full scale investigation going back to the point that Enron's business really took off. If this is the case, there are many in the previous administration who should be very worried.

well they may be "worried", but they don't have elective offices to lose anymore...this falls in the lap of the party presently in control--if all that can be said is "well the Dems did it to, the previous admin, blah blah blah",well, who do we sound like now?? this will be UGLY, the press smells blood, you've got guys dying, the administration withholding documents, docs being shredded, immunity being given to an in house big shot, the auditor pleading the fifth, politicians lining their pockets (and making favorable rulings for Enron), and most importantly, innocent Americans losing their life savings to fraud and greed, which is what will be played up ad nauseum... gee...sounds like the makings of a good mini-series...
