Lynx Fraud: Why are these folks not in jail?
I am outraged by the fact that the American people have been subjected to fraud by officials from the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife who planted false evidence of a Canadian Lynx on three occasions in our national forests.
The seven federal and state scientists were participating in a three-year survey to determine lynx habitat that would establish land-use restrictions in 16 states and 57 national forests. These criminals say they submitted the false samples to test laboratory accuracy. If this flimsy excuse is allowed to stand think of the ramifications. Nothing would be a crime because any common criminal could say he was just testing the system. I believe their intention was to prohibit the citizens of the United States from enjoying and making use of public land.
Now there is a question of the legitimacy of the study of the grizzly bear. It seems they attempted to acquire fur of a grizzly from a taxidermist to plant in forest where there are no bears. What results of other studies have been tainted by intentionally planted false evidence?
These people got a slap on the wrist and allowed to keep their jobs! There should be an investigation of them and any organizations they belong to. They should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!
Chairman of the House Resources committee Rep. James Hansen of Utah, claimed, "Planting false evidence of lynx presence would limit the use of natural resources in forests wrongly believed to be lynx habitat," "It would limit people's access to those forests. It would virtually destroy recreational opportunities there. That, in turn, could be devastating to nearby local economies that rely on business from tourists and recreationists. This hoax, if it hadn't been discovered, could have wrecked some people's way of life. These involved employees should be promptly fired and the entire national inventory reviewed for proven accuracy."
He has joined Colorado's Rep. Scott McInnis, chairman of the forest and forest health subcommittee, in calling for congressional hearings into the matter.
I have compiled news articles from various sources gathered on the internet. The sources are: The Washington Times, The Washington Post, The Seattle Times, Sierra Times, FOX News, Free-Market.net, Seattle Post-Intellengencer, The Boston Globe and the U.S. Forest Service.
It is an PDF format and you can get it here. lynxfraud.pdf
``The Fisheries Service is guilty of using junk science to advance a political agenda. Our rivers and streams are teeming with salmon, yet farmers have been pushed into bankruptcy, businesses are closing, and a way of life is being destroyed while government officials explain away listing fish that really aren't endangered at all,'' said Russ Brooks of Pacific Legal Foundation.
So true and the concept and wording is the same when applied to all other government agencies and political-agenda-activist groups.
``The Brady Center is guilty of using junk science to advance a political agenda. Our streets and neighborhoods are teeming with gun-wielding criminals, yet law-abiding people have been pushed into defenselessness, businesses are closing, and a way of life is being destroyed while government officials explain away pointing to guns that really aren't the cause of crime at all,'' said Russ Brooks of Pacific Legal Foundation.
The case announced today will be the focus of much attention during a water forum and coho salmon barbecue scheduled for this weekend in the Klamath Basin that is expected to draw 4,000 people. Ironically, the coho salmon to be served at the barbecue was donated to Oregon food banks by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to feed bankrupt farmers and their families affected by regulatory action under the ESA.
That's not ironic -- it's a wild-eyed slap in the face. The blatant dishonesty, blatant abuse, blatant malevolence of bankrupting 1400 much needed value producing farmers is sick beyond words.
Value Destroyers versus Value Producers
If civilization had to chose between business/science and government/bureaucracy, eliminating the other, which is the better choice?
The first thing civilization must have is business/science. It's what the family needs so that its members can live creative, productive, happy lives. Business/science can survive, even thrive without government/bureaucracy.
Government/bureaucracy cannot survive without business/science. In general, business/science and family is the host and government/bureaucracy is a parasite.
Aside from that, keep valid government services that protect individual rights and property. Military defense, FBI, CIA, police and courts. With the rest of government striped away those few valid services would be several fold more efficient and effective than they are today.
Underwriters Laboratory is a private sector business that has to compete in a capitalist market. Underwriters laboratory is a good example of success where government fails.
Any government agency that is a value to the people and society could better serve the people by being in the private sector where competition demands maximum performance.
Wake up America! We are the host. They are the parasites. We don't need them. They need us.

Snatch a copy and send it to your congress critter or provide them a link to it.
Stop Bio-fraud, Investigate ESA Input Data
If you are not sure what this is all about get the pdf file which is a compilation of news articles from various sources gathered on the internet. The sources are: The Washington Times, The Washington Post, The Seattle Times, Sierra Times, FOX News, Free-Market.net, Seattle Post-Intellengencer, The Boston Globe and the U.S. Forest Service and many more. It is an PDF format and you can get it here. lynxfraud.pdf
Grab the pdf and use it as a resource to write your congress critter or favorite news reporter. This really does need to be investigated. The only way it will be is to yell and scream about it. If the fraudulent taking of our public land does not interest you read no further, take no action.
Someday you will want to take your children or your grandchildren to a public forest and it will be off limits to humans to preserve the habitat for an animal that is NOT there.
UPDATE
I have updated the pdf file with the 9 more news articles on January 29, 2002. This thing is exploding with interest.
Sign the petition now! Let Congress know you want an investigation!
Rep. James Hansen (R-Utah), chairman of the U.S. House Resources Committee, and Rep. Scott McInnis (R-Colorado), chairman of the U.S. House Forest Subcommittee have requested that the Government Accounting Office (GAO) investigate the incident. Rep. McInnis plans to hold hearings before the Forest subcommittee this spring.
Scream Loud! Scream Now!
This story surely qualifies- they'd rather chatter & foam about Noel Bush & "torturing" the Gitmo prisoners....
