Lynx Fraud: Why are these folks not in jail?

I am outraged by the fact that the American people have been subjected to fraud by officials from the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife who planted false evidence of a Canadian Lynx on three occasions in our national forests.

The seven federal and state scientists were participating in a three-year survey to determine lynx habitat that would establish land-use restrictions in 16 states and 57 national forests. These criminals say they submitted the false samples to test laboratory accuracy. If this flimsy excuse is allowed to stand think of the ramifications. Nothing would be a crime because any common criminal could say he was just testing the system. I believe their intention was to prohibit the citizens of the United States from enjoying and making use of public land.

Now there is a question of the legitimacy of the study of the grizzly bear. It seems they attempted to acquire fur of a grizzly from a taxidermist to plant in forest where there are no bears. What results of other studies have been tainted by intentionally planted false evidence?

These people got a slap on the wrist and allowed to keep their jobs! There should be an investigation of them and any organizations they belong to. They should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!

Chairman of the House Resources committee Rep. James Hansen of Utah, claimed, "Planting false evidence of lynx presence would limit the use of natural resources in forests wrongly believed to be lynx habitat," "It would limit people's access to those forests. It would virtually destroy recreational opportunities there. That, in turn, could be devastating to nearby local economies that rely on business from tourists and recreationists. This hoax, if it hadn't been discovered, could have wrecked some people's way of life. These involved employees should be promptly fired and the entire national inventory reviewed for proven accuracy."

He has joined Colorado's Rep. Scott McInnis, chairman of the forest and forest health subcommittee, in calling for congressional hearings into the matter.

I have compiled news articles from various sources gathered on the internet. The sources are: The Washington Times, The Washington Post, The Seattle Times, Sierra Times, FOX News, Free-Market.net, Seattle Post-Intellengencer, The Boston Globe and the U.S. Forest Service.

It is an PDF format and you can get it here. lynxfraud.pdf

Grab the pdf and use it as a resource to write your congress critter or favorite new reporter. This really does need to be investigated. The only way it will be is to yell and scream about it. If the fraudulent taking of our public land does not interest you read no further, take no action.

Someday you will want to take your children or your grandchildren to a public forest and it will be off limits to humans to preserve the habitat for an animal that is NOT there.

Freepers! We can make a difference!

One of the most enlightening stories in the PDF file is near the end. It is from the Boston Globe and is about some lynx kittens found on the east coast in a cleared forest where the whacos say they can't be.

Brownshirts don't go to jail. The Clintonazi will protect their own. It is a private matter, no names please. American fascism is thriving because we let it.

This fraud is good because it advances the power of the State, which then rewards its party members' business interests through selective regulations.

Exactly why we need to scream about this one. This issue could be a rally point for freedom everywhere. Second Amendment issues only attract gun owners, farming issues garner the support of farmers, off road vehicle use issues get those who own dirt bikes and four wheelers and hunting issues only get the interest of hunters.

This issue should, heavy on the should, get all these groups united to make a stand. Why am I hearing music in the background? (This land is land is your land...

... why aren't they releasing the names of these criminals? Shouldn't it be public info?

Because it would make it real. Right now they are but foggy government agents with official titles.

Glad you found that, and I neglected to mention that the reason I think "they" are trying to soft-pedal this issue is the fear that once exposed, the lynx fraud might cause the public to question other "holies" of the Enviral world- the spotted owl, the red-cockaded woodpecker, Roadless Initiatives, the Riverkeeper scam, etc.

I covered a little bit of the broader subject- tricking the public about "issues"- here:

Why are these folks not in jail?

Because they demonstrated a willingness to take personal risks to expand the power of government.

I agree with your assessment as to why they will do nothing. Can you say can of worms or Pandora's Box? This will not become an issue until the people scream foul.
