A disgusting Jeep ad
Cable TV

Good eve friends and freepers. After seeing this ad on Cable TV last night, I was dumbfounded that such a brickbat would be thrown at those who have been purchasing 4WD vehicles for years.
A new Jeep SUV is seen driving through the woods with two deer strapped to it's hood. The reactions of the hunters most of whom are sporting scruff, mullets, and obesity as well as orange vests are those of incredulity at the apparent success of the SUV's driver. As the vehicle disappears behind a bluff, it stops at a clearing posted with no hunting signs, the driver then gets out, and in a soothing, caring voice, cuts the cables letting the deer which spring to life, away from the danger.

What's next, a bunch of feminazis going to the next whine-in in a new durango?

Actually, it sounds rather hilarious....especially since it portrays the SUV driver as someone other than what they usually are portrayed everywhere else....sounds like they're trying to get at the LIBERAL market....who say they don't like them because they are GAS guzzlers....I think it just portrays the libs as looneys...

It really is like something from another planet. Do these MORONS at Jeep really think that a real hunter won't remember this?
DON'T LOOK UP

I sent the link to a hunter friend of ours. Too funny!
Real Jeep people buy real Jeeps...wussie Jeep people buy wussie Jeeps and set deer free. Instead of a Jeep maybe they need the Rav4 psuedo Jeep...? No flames please. My hubby has already set me straight that Rav4's are NOT...I repeat NOT...Jeeps! lol Right, figit? ;o)

I saw that advert last night and I just knew that someone on FR would rant and rail against it.
I don't hunt myself (don't have the stomach for it), but I don't see anything particularly offensive about the advert.

Real Jeep people buy real Jeeps...That was my first thought. The Cherokee has been revised over the years into a Pavement Princess. Have you seen the new models? No respectable hunter (or man, for that matter) would be caught dead in one.
I live in an area that gets a good amount of snow every winter and has received its fair share of California transplants over the years. I started noticing a lot of Cherokees augered in after a good winter snow storm and was wondering what the problem was. Come to find out that the Cherokee was the "in" vehicle for transplanted yuppie Californians and someone forgot to tell them that you can't drive 70mph on ice, regardless of 4WD or what they show on the TV commercials. ;>)

What's next, a bunch of feminazis going to the next whine-in in a new durango? I think Subaru has that market pretty well sewn up. Watch their commercials closely.

ROFLOL...I'd say this is very true for many Californians, randog! We live in California and in visiting Tahoe have seen our share of yuppie types driving 4wd vehicles making amazingly stupid moves.
Figit owned a Jeep...CJ8? Help me out here Figit. I'm not a Jeep chick (that's another story) but I have a fond appreciation for Jeeps because of my hubby. Unfortunately I don't share his thrill of going 4-wheeling. Taking the curb is plenty, thank you. ;o)

Heck, all the real hunters I know have Pickup trucks, not an SUV. SUVs these days are for groceries and Soccer practice.

The *old* Jeep Grand Wagoneer (era 1990) was wonderful. Big and roomy compared to the newer wussie models. A good family vehicle. Wish we would have purchased one at that time. Hard to find anymore.

Its a good ad. It got your attention and you remembered it.

Well, they've ruined pickups too. Used to be a pickup was an inexpensive rugged practical vehicle for haulin stuff. Now they're expensive cars with a bigger open-air backseat.

I live in one of the record-setting (for number of deer bagged each year) counties in Ohio. No hunter I know of drives a jeep cherokee (or similar model.) This model is prized, however, by libs, homosexual males and soccer moms.

Muskingum County by chance? My folks have a farm there, I bagged two deer this year. The Zanesville paper said they had a pretty good harvest there, but I was only there two days. Don't recall seeing any Jeeps driven by hunters, either.
