Crash Pilot's Osama Note

The lone 15-year-old pilot who stole a small private plane and crashed it into a high-rise office block in Tampa, Florida, left a note expressing sympathy to Osama bin Laden.
Tampa Police Chief Bennie Holder said the note was found on the body of Charles Bishop, who was the only person killed in Saturday's incident.

"I would characterize it as a suicide note," Holder said..
He said Bishop's note clearly stated that he had acted alone without any help from anyone else.
"Troubled Young Man"
But Holder said that in the note Bishop expressed sympathy for bin Laden, the Saudi-born militant the United States holds responsible for the September 11 attacks..
He added: "The young man Charles Bishop is best described as a young man who had very few friends and was very much a loner - a troubled young man.".
Bishop turned up for a flight lesson at a nearby airport on Saturday afternoon and then took off in a single-engine Cessna 172 without his flight instructor or airport clearance.
He flew for about 10 minutes before crashing into the 28th floor of the 42-storey Bank of America building in Tampa.

Thank God that this kid succeeded in killing only himself and causing some property damage.

I can't help but think of a bad parody when I see these pictures. I mean this kid was pathetic.

Prozac?

Good Riddance and I agree in the fact that he only managed to kill himself.
I am sure there are alot more out there, which is a shame. Which is a reminder to keep our eyes and ears open. We must take every precaution to treat every threat whether vocal or written from anyone and take appropriate actions.
God Bless America!

MacDill Air Force Base on high alert? Not yesterday! Jets scrambled from Homestead Fla. down in S. Florida. This is not good. Norad could have picked closer jets imho.

Prozac? That was my first thought. I read in another article that his mother and grandmother had accompanied him to the airport.

He said Bishop's note clearly stated that he had acted alone without any help from anyone else. This strikes me as odd. To quote Will Shakespeare, "He doth protest too much." If someone did help him, or at least inspire him to do this, it would certainly be in that someone's best interests to have the kid insist in the note that he did it alone.

Reference a previous post expressing concerns about a light plane attacking San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant. The Cessna barely got through the glass in this building. Still worried?

I read in another article that his mother and grandmother had accompanied him to the airport. I heard it was his grandmother but what does that have to do with Prozac?
He was 15, which means he didn't have a drivers licence. Someone had to take him to the airport.

A little chlorine for the gene pool.

All these miserable characters (Columbine, hijackers, terror-bombers, Walker, Reed, Hinkle et al) ought to be enshrined in a "Hall of Fame (?)" for the demented losers they are. If we do it right as a "put down" maybe it can become a disincentive.

The Cessna may have barely gotten through the building....but what if there had been explosives on board?
The fact that fighter jets were sent from so far away, is indeed worrisome.

Good Riddance and I agree in the fact that he only managed to kill himself. He was confused. His motivations would probably be more clear if he'd run the plane into his high school. Since those are generally 1 to 3 stories high, its harder to do.

On Saturday, there were two other private plane crashes in the U.S., one in Boulder, Colorado, the other in Buena Park, California. In the Colorado crash, cops have no idea where the plane took off from, or where it was headed. I would post the news reports, but they're in the Washington Post. I find it very odd that these three crashes all took place on the same day, and that little information in known about any of them. One of them is a confirmed bin Laden fan. Makes me wonder about the other two.

Folks this is sad! Not the fact that the young man did what he did, but the fact he got to where he was through his environment. At 15 years of age you are not shaping your views other are. What suurrounds a 15 year old young man is older liberal teachers, liberal TV, movies, O.J, politically correct teachings from school, parents, and last but not least an anti-god government. Now we'll let them view a trial of terrorist who murdered 3ooo individuals. After the trial we'll have more 15 year olds that are totally lost!

I find it very odd that these three crashes all took place on the same dayUnfortunately, the accident rate for general aviation makes two accidents in one day (attack on the building does not count) nothing out of the ordinary.
