The best piece I've read in many moons. Simply superb.

Some people don't like Eisenhower, but I do. He didn't take any bull from those people over there. He sent our ships in, alerted the National Guard and said: GO AHEAD. I DARE YA!

Defense attorneys are notorious for seeking the dumbest jurists they can find in the jury pool.If you've ever been called for jury duty, you will find this so true. The process is not just limited to defense attorneys, though. An undercover narc I know said that, for drug cases, the DA tries to stack the jury with poorly-educated, elderly, black females. Because they see the effects of drugs, they seem to be the hardest on pushers.

Sure we knew all the facts before we read this article. No, I didn't learn anything new. No, it didn't revise my political beliefs. That said, a huge THANKS for the ping, John, because I really, really like Aldrich's style of writing. I liked the analogy. I read the piece with great interest. Also, it reminded me of the "surely we'll respond THIS time" thoughts I had with every attack we suffered during those eight years, and nothing but blabber ever happened at the top.

I'll have to disagree with Mr. Aldrich on one thing, with all due respect, or maybe this is just expanding on what he says: "liberals" invent crises in order to expand their power via yet another government program to deal with the supposed crises.

Conservatives hate meetings and "process" and they are not good at attending endless conferences where nothing is decided, but where everyone gets a chance to pontificate. Liberals, in contrast, live for such useless and time-consuming meetings. Sounds like my place of business, where I am the only conservative.

to be jury forepersons is miraculous,
Gary complains about liberal policies and then goes on to use the PC-word "foreperson"?

Ah, thank ya John, I love, and I mean LOVE conservative men. They have not forgotten how to be men, shun whimpy, empty good intentions and instead DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE SITUATION AT HAND, and don't need to take a popularity poll to figure exactly how to proceed!!!!!! Why is it so many liberals are such pansies?
When I see Daschle and the rest of the ninny liberals spouting feel good words while working to undermine real action, I just THANK GOD for making conservatives who understand that the path to hell is paved with good intentions. Action is what is required, and I'm so glad our leader has that chainsaw (literally in his case-LOL) well in hand! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

But even more dangerous are the ignorant citizens who vote for liberal policies. Why? Because they are "used" by dishonest politicians seeking to move a flawed and failed agenda forward. Nice snag JH2.
Aldrich gets it. I make it a point of arguement when discussing politics with the liberal rank-and-file. There is a valley of difference between the the leadership of the Democratic party and the Dem/Lib voter. The leadership is loaded with leftists, which are the nearest thing to a communist.
If you look at the electioneering of Al Gore and his horde, you can see the case in point. They leftists subverted and broke the laws and constitution which are designed to help and protect the common man. Yet, they will always argue that they only want to help the working people.

By the headline, I thought Gary was going to be discussing something small and bent.

Clinton investigated terrorism in the same way he tackles any problem, through focus groups, the co-president and third party, PC driven spin negotiators. The results should have been patently obviuos based on his methods and dismal track record to accomplish anything meaningful.
