India, Pakistan prepare nukes, troops for war
Drudge Report ^

Posted on 12/30/2001 8:10:51 PM PST by GulliverSwift

The most alarming signs are preparations in both states for the use of nuclear-tipped missiles.

Intelligence agencies have learned of indications that India is getting its short-range Prithvi ballistic missiles ready for use. The missiles are within range of the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, Gertz reports in Monday's WASH TIMES... MORE...

Meanwhile, Pakistan is mobilizing its Chinese-made mobile M-11 missiles, also known as the Shaheen, which have been readied for movement from a base near Sargodha, Pakistan.

Oh, I don't know. Not much we can do about it anyways. Karma and all.

I think war by Wednesday and nukes 4 days later. I don't think either side has many weapons in the megaton range as most of their delivery systems are tactical (battlefield). That would put them in the range of 50-250Kt. If they do use them I suspect they'll restrict them to the tactical ones so hopefully that means population centers won't be attacked.

What can you do, one side wants their virgins and the other one wants to cycle into their next life?

When Pakistan and India separated, in 1948 I believe it was, the UN held a peace conference on the Kashmir-Jammu question and both countries agreed to a plebiscite. India, however, has put off the vote -- for 50-plus years! Go to google.com and type in the words "Kashmir", "plebiscite," and the phrase "UN resolution." See for yourself.

And China's role? Whats up Justin, somewhere there was a default and in 1956 what happened?

Playing light weight towards China's slice of the pie when Pakistan gave up a share.

India says it would survive a nuclear war and wipe out Pakistan. Is this what they mean by surviving?

The testing we did in the Marianas and Nevada along with Soviet testing is much more then India and Pakistan are capable of. Do not overestimate the power of there nukes.

Most people mis-understand,We here on freerepublic can not change what is about to happen,we can only comment on what we think will happen or why we think it should happen.War has been around since mankind started. It will always be with us on this earth,we will never have utopia and life would be worthless if we did have it,just a fact.

Sounds good...let me ck this out.

(by the way folks, I know this isn't the time to think about prospering off a nuclear war, but I was (not any more) in the retail coin business (numismatics) - and if the Paks and Indians trade nuke shots - watch the price of gold and silver - skyrocket! - All readers who can - tomorrow, or Wednesday or as soon a possible -afford to purchase/ invest in one ounce, gold American Eagles or $1000 bags of pre-1964 silver coins - do so now/call coin dealers tomorrow morning (call three or four/ask for their "spreads" on gold coins and silver bags. Look under coins in any yellow pages in any city in the U. S. A. ...[perhaps you can make enough funds - to either build your own bomb shelter -donate some extra money to FR - or take a flight on a Russian orbitor like that fella from Calif/his $20 million dollar get-away...
Anyway....no charge for this info... - but do do it!

Looks like the west coast US is going to take a double wammy. [In the event of nuclear blasts in India/Pakistan.]

Wouldn't that be a triple whammy? In order of increasing devastation: 1) Crashing export markets, 2) Possible nulcear fallout, 3) Democratic "leadership".
