A bright & cheery Good Morning to you all!!!
(I can say that ONLY because I am writing this at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday!!! I figured it was safer to have something in the can, as Chair would say, then to try to wing it at the ungodly hour of whatever hour it is right now.:)
We here in Mozie-land are slowly coming back down to earth after a hectic, fun-filled,busy, tiring, and joyous Christmas. We give thanks to our Creator for the precious gift of His Son and we pray that the peace & joy brought to us by the remembrance of His birth will continue to grow in our hearts and in all of yours.
Mr. ML & I are delighting in the antics of our offspring, all 3 of whom are home from college for winter break.
Boychild #2 is in training for the position of in-home kitchen knife salesman (temporary, college student-type work.) As he left for his interview he looked positively dapper in his (thrift shop) pin-stripe suit, power tie, sneakers and pony tail.
Girlchild was delighted to discover that the UWGB mens basketball team eats all of their meals, during winter break, at the Country Kitchen where she waitresses, via a voucher system worked out with the school. So all of these tall, hunky guys are coming in & ordering LOTS of food. Eye candy and generous tips; what more could a girl ask for??
Boychild #1 is on a health kick and now requires bottled water, unsweetened breakfast cereal, raw vegetables, and a regime of running, weight-lifting, raquetball, etc. Someone remove this POD PERSON from our midst, QUICK!! (His former diet consisted of pizza & Dr. Pepper, and his idea of exercise was..........well, he HAD no idea of exercise....)
Well, Ive bored you enough. I have to admit being a bit out of the loop re: current events so I will trust that those with functioning brain cells will fill us in.
Loved the pictures of Buffalo. We don't have as much snow in Wisconsin, but its nice to see just the same. (The best part is that it just arrived a week ago, there's only a few months of winter, and our days are getting longer.)
MozartLOver, you'll be pleased to know that the expected forecast for the Sunday Packer/Viking game @ kickoff is goint to be 13 degrees.
Brett also plays extremely well in temps. below 30 degrees. (Not bad for a Mississippi boy!)
GW continues to be underestimated. That's ok with me. You know the Media, or die hard dems., will never give him the credit where credit is due. Look what's happened to Ronald Reagan. Let Dubya continue to outfox the dolts. The American people are not stupid!
Daughter # 1 is down with strep, so I best check on her.
Be good all, and keep your powder dry!
Yesterday, Mr. Marple went to Tractor Supply and bought 2 fence posts to reinforce this area, which he and my grandson installed yesterday.
I just looked out to see the dog CLIMBING the fence. She has now taken off for a romp through the neighborhood and will no doubt return winded and hungry. You cannot catch her because she is too smart and will NOT come when she is in escape mode.
Great. A fence-climbing dog. Grrrr.
Great start Mozie. You did well. I enjoy hearing about our Freeper families families. Sounds like you did a good job of raisin.
Guen...SOMEDAY I am going to make it down to that there beach of yours!!!
CG6-- I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous of youse guys and your weather...
I beg your forgivness.
I can see you and "S" do not really get along. Fear not lovely lady, I shall not infer you with any of the white precip. any more.
Your humble, and obedient!
Let me tell you a story about one of our dogs. When our 1st German Shepherd was about 14 months old, hubby tried to get her to come to him one day. She was feeling quite spunky and disobedient. No matter how much pleading with her she would not come. Finally, he got a tad upset....picked up a small branch that had fallen in the yard and whooshed it around. It never even came close to her and he had no intentions of hitting her. Since she had never heard that sound before or seen her "daddy" get so angry she immediately jumped into the truck like he had wanted her to do. After that incident all he had to do is carry a big stick. :-)
When we got our 2nd Shepherd, we did the same thing. Now all I have to do is say...I'll get my stick" and Elsa comes running.
This may not work on designer hounds, however, we are batting 100% with German Shepherds. :-)
My biggest reason for my disdain for *S* is the treacherous roads I travel to/fro work...and that makes me hate it so.
Smoocherooonies for your kindess!!!!
But ain't it GRAND when we can take a deep breath and realize they're prolly going to turn out OK after all................LOLOL!
I am soooooo enjoying young son being home.........We have always been sympatico--(though we've certainly had our 'moments')....
...but it's such a pleasure seeing him mature & assume responsiblity for his own life & decisions.
He continues to go to church (as we hoped he would)...and is even involved in a 'small group Bible study' every week.
This has been a sweet Christmas for us all........
..Mom & Dad said it was their best ever......They sat in the family room after Christmas dinner, and listened to my daughter's CD Oh Brother Where Art Thou.....
I haven't seen the movie, or heard the recording, but it's ALL very old and authentic sounding Ozark...Appalachia type music from the 30's.
My Mom had me turn it up louder so she could hear it, and she & Dad sat there humming, and smiling and tapping their feet.
Daddy said..."They just don't make music like this anymore"....:)))) ...Mom agreed :)
Well, MOLLY!...I didn't sleep in...........I've been up, showered, and made a quiche this AM for my sleeping son,. and we all will have quiche, muffins, and kiwi for breakfast soon :)
Then, we three, are going to Cocoa Village for the day......
kayak....lysander!!!....GET WELL!
