Well he is. The Papacy has had a few periods in history where it has been on the side of good the Fall of Rome and Early Dark Ages. The period when Italy was occupied by France and Spain( Julius II was the man most responsible for driving them out). And the cold war. Its been on the side of evil through the rest of its history.

No disrespect for either the Vatican in particular, or Christians in general, but...

What I fail to understand is why the Vatican chooses to stand for the "right" of an obvious terrorist mastermind with lots of blood on his hands, who is not even Christian, to go to Bethlehem for an obvious publicity stunt. I would think that the Vatican would want to be perceived as being above or apart from the politics of the area, similar to how the US Supreme Court seeks to remain above internal politics here. It is a matter of credibility - you lose it as a "neutral party" if you become part of the fight on either side. I thought that the Vatican was smarter than that.

Wow you're a great frickin' historian! Are you Stephen Ambrose in disguise or something?

Dude, tell me about how the Church murdered millions, no billions....neigh, gazillions in the Spanish Inquisition!

The inquisition itself didn't kill that many but the Catholic Hapsburg forces killed huge numbers both in the the Spanish Colonies and in Europe.

Arafat is not Christian, but from what I understand his wife is.

One of the things you have to remember is that the Vatican has been involved in ongoing negotiations with Israel over several decades on a diplomatic level. The Vatican had received a lot of criticism for its refusal to recognize Israel as a state, but the truth was that Israel simply did not meet all of the conditions that the Vatican has in place before it recognizes a nation. One of these conditions is that the nation in question must have clearly-defined borders, and another condition is that the nation's capital cannot be situated in disputed territory. The first issue is the reason why the Vatican has always supported the notion of a Palestinian state, and the second issue is the reason why the Vatican will not accept Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

If that is the case, I don't blame him for this concern - the Pallies have shown themselves to be quite murderous, and quite disrespectful of others' religious sites. Yet, the Vatican could have also said nothing. In the present environment, Arafat's international apologists have to keep their mouths shut, so no one would really care if the Vatican said nothing. Arafat has more concerns than that right now, and saying nothing will get nobody massacred in this situation.

She never was a Christian. She was a CINO, born into it. She hates Israel and carries the seed of an Islamic terrorist. She and her children are muslim.

Isn't it rather odd..that A muslim desires to go to the house of the Infidel...it can be..or maybe it isn't ..depending on how one views power. Many will not find the things that I have learned...no there are no dedicated websites..it has come from contact with others over nearly 30 years. The Vatican..or should I say "Christianized Rome"..created Islam...it was a vision..to irradicate the incrimental growth of Evangelicals who ministered in North Africa. This was all a threat to Mother Church..so she went for the intrigue thingy..and worked a timetable with deception and patience. The Koran is a lie..and it is filled with distortions and fantasy..spin upon spin from Judaic and early church writtings...this was concieved by Rome for a new faith..easily enacted upon an ignorant uneducated.. superstitious people. Several key players in Muhammads life where "Catholics", "Waraquah"...Muhammads wifes cousin spent alot of time with him in the caves of Mt Hira not far from Mecca..here the supposed Holy one recieved visions...out of this all ..came the Quran..Koran. In time this entity would grow..and get outta hand..as it did when the Muslims challanged Temporal power of the Vatican..and said ..lets share the world! These two bodies know the truth of eachs existence..one is the parent.the other the child. The Ayatollahs in Qom and Tehran know the truth...no one dare spill it..the world would fly apart if the faithfull, discovered their entire hope was in fact a lie. Papal Bulls with power to kill millions have been issued before...the Crusades...the Spanish civil war... WW-1 AND 2..the wars against the State of Israel. Why is it so amazing to discover a people..who did not exist, now exist..and are embolden to drive Israel out of the land. Who is guiding the show? The Vatican! Rome will have Jerusalem..and Rome will use Islam to get it, How is it that this "Munchkin from Hell..the Gargoyle of Gaza"..is always showing up in the Vatican before his holiness..how is it that Islam is allways so quiet concerning this.. how is it that the " Church Universal"..embraces this disgusting excrement of a human being.. They don't mind..because people are blind to what is going on..."oh Arafat is going to Mass how nice..those Evil Jews ..how can they persecute those Ancient Palistinians" No.. Ancient Palistinians don't exist...Arafat is an Demon possessed slave..the Vatican is trying to get Jerusalem. an mankind is on the verge of Insanity and madness unseen as this agenda heads towards it's enevitable "Event Horizon" The books of Isaiah,Ezekiel,Daniel paint the picture clearly of the "Game"..and the end result..the Game fails! Undone by ONE who can undo allthings... imagined by man and spirits.

The first issue is the reason why the Vatican has always supported the notion of a Palestinian state, and the second issue is the reason why the Vatican will not accept Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Neither of those are the real reasons.

The Pope is an old man and cannot bring himself to lead Christians against Islamic terrorism. He doesn't want to offend the Moslems because Islam is a religion of peace.
