What Should Be Done With the Traitor?

What should be done to the Marin County man who abandoned America to fight with our enemies? I say he should be tried for treason, nothing less.

What Should Be Done With the Traitor?

Hang the b@stard. If we shoot him, we waste a round, lethal injection and we waste serum, electric chair we waste electricity. Hang him and we can re-use the rope.

"He's entitled to one blindfold and a cigarette."

And one copy of the "Clinton Times".

Duct tape him to the flagpole at Ground Zero and have him watch the firefighters pulling out the bodies in the dead of winter.

Then try him in a military court..

I believe REAL justice might be better served if he IS turned over, in order to obviate the three ring circus his American trial would involve.

I agree I just do not want to risk his return ,even for a visit to this nation...ever......

Put him in the general population at Rikers Island, while we decide what to do with what is left.

...but sadly this America we are (not us freepers )has alot of work to do to get over the last 30 years and sadly 9-11 may not have been enough...

Yup. It will take at least one more major hit on American soil for America to "wake-up" and get serious. Certainly the French will never get involved, even if the Eiffel Tower or L'Arc de Triomphe goes down.

Drag him through the streets of New York and let the people there have his way with him... I bet he will not live for three blocks! And show it on tv to give his jihad buddies in the US and the rest of the world an impression of how we value their contribution to our society.

...exposure to flesh eating bacteria...

Heard about this phenomenom a while back; some sort of unusual condition that's not well documented. Sounds pretty nasty... Anyway, just the "ticket" for JJ (Johnny Jihad).

not to rain on your lynch mob, but unless you re-write the constitution, there is no way he can be tried for treason;

a: He was with the Taliban long before Sept 11,

b: The US has not declared war against Afghanistan,

c: There is no evidence he was intimately involved with al-Qaeda or was involved in the terrorist attacks

Unless you declare war on Afghanistan and re-write the constitution to make treason retro-active, there really isn't all that much you can do to him.

Realistically, he will probably be tried on some generic federal conspircy charge, spend a few years in jail and be released and eventually pardoned by some future administration, Tokyo Rose was pardoned by President Ford.

Bin Laden & Company were murdering Americans long before then.

I rather like the punishment described in Edward Hale's classic story, The Man without a Country.

For any of those whose public school educations did not include reading the classics, the main character was being tried for treason and uttered the line, "D---n the United States! I wish I may never hear of the United States again!" As punishment, he was ordered to spend the rest of his life on naval ships, transferred at sea from one ship to another to prevent him from ever landing, with the crews ordered never to mention the United States or to provide him with any news of what was happening there.

I understand that John Walker Lindh is currently being held in a cargo container on a U.S. ship. That's a good place to keep him for the next 50 years.

How about dragging him through the court sysem for about twenty years, so he'll have enough time to write a book and make a movie deal with the hollywood elite. Meanwhile sucking the taxpayers dry and making a mockery of our court system, not to mention, setting a positive example for anyone else with any bright ideas...

On target with your assessment. Best not to bring him to USA soil. Leave him in sand-land, CIA to give directives to Northern Alliance to "cleanse the perp." No muss, no fuss.

Let the public wonder, "gee, where's JJ?" Rummy can truthfully respond, "he's in the hands of the NA." End of story....
