[history]
A well-known biophysicist who was one of the leading researchers on DNA sequencing analysis was found slain in his rural Loudoun County home after co-workers became concerned that he didn't come to work Monday, authorities said yesterday.
A microbiologist killed at CSIRO's animal diseases facility in Geelong had logged 15 years' experience with the unit, police said today.
Victoria Police said Set Van Nguyen, 44, appeared to have died yesterday morning after entering an airlock into a storage laboratory filled with nitrogen.
His body was found when his wife became worried after he failed to return from work.

Nguyen
That, if I remember right, is the last name of the nurse in NYC who did of anthrax. I'm sure it is a common Vietnamese name, but even that is sure curious.

The supposed Chile case has dropped off the face of the earth, but it's safe to say it probably hasn't checked out, probably cross-contamination in the Chilean lab Why is it safe to say that? Isn't that making an assumption without having the facts?

N2 is not deadly, or any more deadly than water. Our atmostphere is 90+% N2. Actually, it is more like 78% N2, 21% O2 and 1% of everything else, 90% of the 1% is Argon.
To: LenS
I think he knows that. It's a bit of a stretch to point out the names. Yes this Set Van Nguyen was nguoi Viet, but it's not a big coincidence if two Vietnamese people with the name Nguyen die in a matter of two/three months. Nguyen is more common than Smith.

"...but surely he noticed that he was out of breath and couldn't oxygenate himself by breathing in the lab..." The feeling of being out of breath is caused by a build up of carbon dioxide in the blood. If you have an N2 atmosphere (with no oxygen) your body is still able to exhale CO2, so you don't feel the sensation of being out of breath. You get sleepy and pass out.
Pilots are trained how to recognize the onset of lack of oxygen, but often do not. Most people will not realize what is happening.

N2 by itself is not the problem. But the lack of Oxygen causes the breather to pass out almost instantly. I saw this happen once when the breating air tank for a SCBA had been hydrotested using N2. It was not emptied and refilled with breathing air. A firefighter ended up with the tank. He buckled and passed out almost instantly.

Big time wrong-o. Air is about 77% nitrogen, not 90. Air is about 21.9 % oxygen. Go under 19.5% and you're asking for trouble. Read up before posting.

Mr. John H K seems to have an interest in discounting all the foreign anthrax cases, and suggestions that Middle Easterners in this country may be involved, and in accusing those of us who insist on retaining an open mind of being conspiracy theorists.

The "Ebola Victim Missing" part of the title got my attention.
Now where's the story about that?

"Wrong-o. If you enter a room (or closed area) entirely full of nitrogen, you only have one or two full breaths before losing consciousness. I know--because it happened to me. I was damned lucky to live. "Instinct" has nothing whatsoever to do with it, as there simply isn't TIME to recognize what is happening and take action." Yup. The chip making business have had a number of deaths and many more close escapes. Some got lucky when they collapsed back into the oxygen near the floor.

"Also notice the Autralian's last name." That is
really interesting. . .
Seems, according to posts here, that Swartz case already has the 'alleged perpetrators'; but the Wiley case, is more than perplexing. . .
. . .particularly with the absence or the 'appearance' of an absence of interest on behalf of the FBI. Sincerely, and anxiously, hope it is the latter. . .

When I read, over the Thanksgiving weekend, that Vladimir Pasechnik had just died of a stroke, I thought nothing of it. I was completing reading Ken Alibek's book
Biohazard (in which Pasechnik plays a rather prominent role) at the time, so the timing struck me as curious. But I didn't doubt the alleged cause of death, then.
But now, reading about all these other people, I have to wonder.

Did he say anything on how to bait mouse traps? It will be quite difficult after all the cheese is discarded to preclude surreptitious mouse intrusions. Use pepperoni. Its fibrous texture means the mouse has to tug harder to pull it loose from the trigger, making the trap more likely to go off.
Besides, the mouse dies happier.
On no account use soy cheese. No creature's last thought should be "What the hell is this?"

Any of this connected with the Clintons? I wonder if they have people doing their dirty work to cover their trail as always! Grassontop

...and in accusing those of us who insist on retaining an open mind of being conspiracy theorists. Marginalize, marginalize. That's the name of the game.

Okay...
Is it me or does it seem like quite a few scientist are getting snuffed out?
I hate to sound like some of our more dimwitted board members but this is alot of coincidence at a peculiar time?

Thanks for the heads up!
