[history]
A well-known biophysicist who was one of the leading researchers on DNA sequencing analysis was found slain in his rural Loudoun County home after co-workers became concerned that he didn't come to work Monday, authorities said yesterday.
A microbiologist killed at CSIRO's animal diseases facility in Geelong had logged 15 years' experience with the unit, police said today.
Victoria Police said Set Van Nguyen, 44, appeared to have died yesterday morning after entering an airlock into a storage laboratory filled with nitrogen.
His body was found when his wife became worried after he failed to return from work.

Pray for America.
This brings two five experts either missing or dead in the last few weeks. FBI seems of no interests and Memphis plolice call Wiley a likely suicide despite no evidence that he was suicidal, and no body ever found. Also notice the Autralian's last name.

Three arrests have already been made in the Schwartz case, as I've noted..the web articles reflecting that won't appear till tomorrow. They arrested three teenage friends (all white, non-Arabs, btw) of the scientist's daughter for the murder.

Also head administrator for Medical School in Iowa found stabbed.
FR posting. Seems to be an epidemic of disappearing/dying scientists associated with bio-med expertise.

the room was full of deadly gas ...N2 is not deadly, or any more deadly than water. Our atmostphere is 90+% N2. Granted, we need 02 to live, so he couldn't stay in the area ... but surely he noticed that he was out of breath and couldn't oxygenate himself by breathing in the lab. Instinct would cause one to leave the area. This sounds like he was trapped in there, and murdered.

Some will be solved, some will reappear and some.... Perhaps there is an Anthrax "action" going on - which side, which side, which side - hmmmm? A new conspiracy theory in the making.

Also, the anthrax to Nigeria (still questionable--they say it was, US says it wasn't) was sent to a medical Doctor, and the anthrax to Chile was also sent to a medical Doctor.
Seems scientist and physician has become a hazardous occupation lately.

Just remember what Johnny Jihad said!
To: widgysoft
Did he say anything on how to bait mouse traps? It will be quite difficult after all the cheese is discarded to preclude surreptitious mouse intrusions.

Wrong-o. If you enter a room (or closed area) entirely full of nitrogen, you only have one or two full breaths before losing consciousness. I know--because it happened to me. I was damned lucky to live. "Instinct" has nothing whatsoever to do with it, as there simply isn't TIME to recognize what is happening and take action.

Great reply - at least there were no mice involved.

I've never heard anything about "anthrax" sent to Nigeria.
Do you mean Kenya? Both Kenya and the US say it wasn't anthrax. It was mold. And it was mailed to a Kenyan doctor by his DAUGHTER. It was cloth that somehow got wet in transit.
The supposed Chile case has dropped off the face of the earth, but it's safe to say it probably hasn't checked out, probably cross-contamination in the Chilean lab. It was a mass-mailing of brochures, anyway.

Nguyen is a Vietnamese name. Vietnam is not exactly an Islamic hotbed.
