I, for one, couldn't care less how he pronounces it.

The official pronounciation has now been officially changed, to the way G. W. Bush says it. Why? Because he is the President, and what he says goes, okay?

I'm with you. Not a biggie, but it makes him
sound ignorant and uneducated. The word is nu-cle-ar, not nu-cu-lar.

He pronounces it that way for strategery reasons.
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
Why would you assume that he has not been corrected before, but, just doesn't think it's that important? He is, after all, married to a bright, and not shy, teacher/librarian.
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
Perhaps he should just call it "nukey".
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
This is too funny! My son also cannot pronounce "nuclear," or even "dracula." And he was born in England, educated in America. Maybe there's a speech teacher out there who knows?

Jimmy Carter pronounced it the came way, and he had worked on nuclear engineering projects.

Look I don't care how he says nuclear. The one that bugs me is America (Amurica). It just bugs me for some reason, don't know why. It's not Southern, at least the part of the South I grew up in (NC). We say America.
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
Arrrgh! That's the way Jimmuh Carter used to say it. And Carter had been through the Navy's nuke school, to boot.

Wait until he uses the word "asterik" instead of "asterisk" -- then I will be REALLY upset.
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
"I hope this doesn't sound petty..." Too late.
BTW, I am particularly fond of cheese.
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
Hey, at least you know what he's talking about. You say potatoe, I say patatoe....
Now, on the other hand, when Jesse Jackson speaks, I can't understand a durn thing he's saying......
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
How should he pronounciate it?
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
You are quite correct. It IS petty!
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
Geez, I am really getting tired of people telling other people how to pronounce nuclear. When this happens I tend to use the irritating pronounciation just for the heck of it. (I will spell potatoe with an E till I die. heh heh Get a life! This is a useless vanity!
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
Cant...
I have no doubt in my mind that the people that need to know what he is saying, understand him quite well.
