By pursuing these women, we are really seeking our own lost masculinity.
Makow should really learn to speak for himself. He's a dude so out of touch with women he had to fly to the Phillipines to get himself an 18-year-old bride he'd never met before. AND she dumped him. Men who need to get themselves mail-order brides have no credibility when it comes to courtship or mating between men and women.

In my experience, the above is basically true.

Beautiful essay and pretty much follows scripture on the roles of men and women.
Of course the feminists howl at this sort of simple common sense and only see women being dominated when in fact, this model of male/female relations would guarantee women would be valued and loved and not seen as competitors and sex objects to be used and discarded by men.
Maybe the next generation will wake up to the fact that women can't 'have it all' and men need to once again see women as special, something neither sex seems to understand anymore, to their great loss.

This is all SO true! The femi-nazis have done NOTHING to promote the good of real women, at least other than the equal pay for equal work legislation. Instead, they have been responsible for the systematic corruption of the God given nature of women AND men! They have promoted the destruction of life by promoting the abortion abomination. They have treated immorality as a "greater good" by encouraging women and young girls to engage in promiscuous sex AND how to avoid the consequences and accountablity. They have made a mockery of marriage between a man and a woman by promoting acceptablity of "domestic unions." These people outlived their usefulness in the 70's.
As a woman I like to be protected. I enjoy having a door opened for me or being offered a hand down the steps. I find it endearing when a man gets tongue-tied trying to talk to me, or when he offers me his coat. I like it when a man steps in to take the burden off of me when he sees I'm in over my head. I like to be treated with honor and respect by a man.
It has nothing to do with equality; men and women ARE equals. It has everything to do with being true to your nature. You don't call a priest to fix the plumbing or the electrician to deliver a baby. Men and women are gloriously different from one another, and only by expressing our natures in accordance with their design can we be the kind of complimenting counterbalance that makes life work in relative harmony.

oh, the femisits (and most women this century have been trained to be feminists) are going to HATE this, but it is 100% TRUE.

I'm not saying all women should save their virginity until marriage but certainly sex should be reserved for honest, loving relationships. This author may not say it, but I will. Same goes for men, too.
Men need to stop looking for sex and start looking for the right woman. That's the only guarantee of sex anyway.
At least he got this part right.

Hmmm... does Makow read Free Republic? I think he goes a little overboard on dependency. He should have emphasized complementarity, instead.

Interesting read, but quiet and unassuming is not necessarily feminine, nor is an assertive, confident woman not feminine.

Sigh........where do they hide all the men like this?

Hmmm... Interesting.
I'm an enormous fan of feminity. The differences between men and women are one of the most beautiful miracles of life.
Nice article, though I'm not sure I agree with all of it.

We have pursued the busy, neurotic, overachievers who guarantee us heartbreak, divorce and broken family.Just who is "we"? Very few of my friends have wives that are even remotely like this.
I liked the movie Legally Blonde because the heroine showed that she could excel in the work world but why bother? She had a more important goal: a husband and family.
A movie with a similar tone is Baby Boom with Diane Keeton who goes from being the busy, neurotic, overachiever type to a REAL woman when she is given custody of a baby due to the death of a relative.

CANADIAN PROFESSOR CANNED FOR BEING NON-FEMINIST
WINNIPEG, May 30 (LSN.ca) - Dr. Henry Makow, PhD, 50, a former
lecturer in the English department at the University of Winnipeg, has
filed a complaint with the Manitoba Human Rights Commission alleging
discrimination on the basis of his political beliefs, and his sexual
orientation. He is heterosexual.
Dr. Makow, the inventor of the popular board game Scruples, has been
let go by the University of Winnipeg over being a "non-feminist."
University
President Constance Rooke, told him he was "anti feminist" and that
"anti feminists are anti-women." Dr. Rooke informed Dr. Makow that his
teaching services would not be retained next year. When Dr. Makow
objected, raising the issue of academic freedom, Rooke scoffed: "We let
you finish teaching the year, didn't we?"
Dr. Makow's punishment stems from complaints raised by four students
in one of his two classes. In an anonymous letter, the four students
told Dr. Makow that, "we have sensed your strong feeling that women
should be submissive and docile." The feminists at the college became
enraged because he expressed the view: "I don't believe being wives and
mothers has oppressed women. They have been selected by nature for a
task which is far more important than anything men do. It's time
society, stopped devaluing the role of wife, mother, and homemaker."
Dr. Makow believes that "a woman who puts husband and children before
herself brings love into the world. More than any other, this is the
way love is born."
The university took drastic action upon receipt of the letter despite
the fact that the complaint was not even formal. Dr. Makow informed
LifeSite that there was no investigation to determine whether the letter
had any merit. When he responded that he had been misrepresented he was
ignored, as were letters of support for his fairness submitted by other
students and Dr. Makow's submission indicating support for his position
in course materials. As well as deciding to release Dr. Makow from his
teaching responsibilities the following year, the university decided
another professor should grade the final papers and exams of the letter
writers. The university gave them permission to cut his classes and even
discussed providing these students with
tutors.
Dr. Makow told LifeSite that the action was taken since the
complaining students felt "uncomfortable," although radical feminist
professors were not disciplined at all even though they would not give a
passing grade to dissenting students. He
provided the administration with proof that he had given A's to
feminists. He lamented that the "university turns out women who hate
men." He said that the radical feminists "have turned the
university into an agency for their twisted social agenda."
