Men Must Champion Feminine Women

Right, obeying every whim of a man you have never met solely because he is richer than you are (called a boss, or at one remove a stockholder), who moreover chose you out of a pile of paper forms, instead of cooperating with a man you have specifically chosen (in the flesh) out of all the world (called a husband), means you are "free" and "independent". That makes so much sense. If you choose, you'd be a slave; if a rich "employer" chooses for you, you are free.

A feminine woman? Is there such a thing as a feminine woman? I thought that they were all out to dominate, and feminize men! Where do you find them? I always thought that a feminine woman is a mythical creature like the Unicorn, or extinct like the Carrier Pigeon. Please give me more information.

Being the strong libertarian man that I am, I would respond to his initiatory force by removing the magazine from him and telling him that he 'lost' his magazine. Then I would ask him, "Care to lose something more?"

There was a time in my life when I would have regarded these two sentences as unmitigated hogwash. There was another time in my life when I would have regarded them as the gospel truth.

Right now they are neither; they are simply black & white statements in a world of shades of gray.

Where did I denigrate women who choose to stay at home? I didn't! But the fact that I, as a single woman with an upwardly moving career, should be considered some sort of butch feminazi for excelling in what I choose to do, is insulting in the extreme.

And furthermore, yes I want to get married and have kids. Yes, I most certainly do. And I want to give those kids every opportunity, which oft times can only be afforded through double income. Am I unfeminine for wanting the best for future children, and am prepared to work hard to get it? I don't think so. In fact, I think providing and nurturing children are THE most feminine qualities there are. And, please God, if I am blessed with children...I'll do just that!

I have to say that, as much as I agree with most of this article, I do get the feeling that Makow likes submissive, docile women. And that is clearly not the right message for a college professor to be sending to young women.

This is a little silly. How does Makow's personal preference for any sort of woman send the wrong message about anything? If there had been an accusation that this preference affected the way he treated students, that would be an issue. But the evidence seems to contradict this.

To me this seems a classic example of campus political correctness. He was fired for simply holding an opinion contrary to campus orthodoxy. No matter what message you believe Makow was sending, this other message is surely more harmful by a large margin.

I would respond the same way the others say they would respond, except for scottiewottie. I would not take away his property, unless he refused to honor my reasonable request to put it away.

Why? Well, it's just not appropriate in mixed company. I know that's not the explanation you are looking for, but that's the way it is.

I, for one, admire you for doing the right thing to be certain your children have a good life. Children need BOTH parents. Guys that duck their family duties are truly scum! Being a dad has been the greatest joy I have ever had. Unfortunately, my youngest is a junior in High School, and will move on to College very soon. It will be different without a kid in the house.

I wasn't particularly defending the decision to discharge Makow; I'm just not sure that he is the most effective spokesman for this issue, particularly with college-age women. And, for the good or bad, women tend to assess the personal characteristics of the messenger, when they evaluate the validity of any particular message.

Here's an approach that I think might be much more effective in sending a positive message to women:

FINALLY somebody here that thinks women like me are okay, too!

I shoot (targets), I hunt (deer), I can tune up my own car and I can chop my own firewood HOWEVER, I prefer being able to dress in skirts and high heels, cook dinner, teach the children and spend time with my husband who, incidently, takes care of all of those aforementioned items FOR me since he is a true Southern Gentlemen and KNOWS how to treat a woman and make her truly feel like a lady.
