New US Terror Alert Linked to Nuke Fear
DEBKAfile ^ | 12/4/2001 | DEBKAFile

Posted on 12/04/2001 1:07:25 PM PST by Smogger

4 December: One factor in the third general terror alert raised in the United States since September 11 relates, according to US media, to intelligence information indicating that the former Saudi terrorist Osama bin Laden has gained possession of a so-called dirty or radiological bomb. The target date referred to in electronic intercepts is mid-December. It has also been suggested that such weapons may have been smuggled into the United States.

On October 12, DEBKA-Net-Weekly reported from its intelligence sources that Bin Laden had almost certainly procured a supply of uranium-235 six months before the September 11 suicide attacks. The uranium was believed to have reached him in a multimillion deal with a Ukrainian-born mobster called Semion Mogilevich.

DEBKA-Net-Weekly came back to the subject more recently on November 30, in another exclusive report: Radiation Poisoning Betrays Mule In the first week of October, a Pakistani arrested on immigration charges in the course of the FBI investigation into the September 11 suicide attacks, complained of bleeding gums and pain, symptoms of gingivitis. He was treated with antibiotics, but was found dead in his cell in Hudson Count jail in Kearny, New Jersey, three weeks later. The cause of death was not released, any more than the dead man’s identity.

DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s medical experts note that the bleeding gums the anonymous Pakistani was treated for are a symptom of radiation poisoning, suggesting he might have been a “mule” transporting nuclear materials or devices into America. (A subsequent investigation revealed that he had contracted gingivitis as a result of radiation-induced leukemia.)

This explanation would imply that more than one such carrier is employed by al Qaeda to smuggle nuclear materials or devices into the United States, Western Europe and the Middle East, their mission being to plant their deadly burdens in pre-arranged secret locations, ready for activation.

At roughly the same time, another Pakistani was detained at the Allenby Bridge crossing from Jordan to Israel. According to initial published reports, he was caught trying to smuggle in a “dirty” nuclear device (a conventional explosive mixed with nuclear materials that spreads radiation).

Then came the news blackout. An exhaustive DEBKA-Net-Weekly investigation revealed that the arrested intruder carried no nuclear device. However, he suffered the same symptoms as the man who died in Hudson Jail, New Jersey, indicating he had been exposed to dangerous doses of radiation. DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s intelligence sources reveal that Israel has recently installed hidden Geiger counters in the battery of detectors at its international border crossings. The counter pointed border officials to the suspected “mule”, who most probably reached Jordan from Abu Dhabi.

Israel handed him over to the United States, but was left asking itself: What exactly was the Pakistani’s mission? And have other members of the mule pack managed to gain entry?

If we actually do suffer an attack using one of these radiation bombs, can we then deport potential terrorists from the USA? Please?

Or do we have to wait and suffer from something worse, an actual nuclear weapon, or some virus/bacteria beyond our control?

When do we get to send potential terrorists home?

I guess it's too much to ask for such deportations before the next attack. Sigh.

The Islamic entente has nuclear capability and is preparing to use it on major Western cities before the end of the year. When "Allah's Suitcase" is opened it will usher in a new Dark Age and cripple Western economic infrastructure. To their credit, Western intelligence agencies are in frantic pursuit of these bin Laden suicide operatives -- but they are too late.

These devices are estimated to have a yield of aproximately one point five kilotons, and may indeed be used in conjunction with so-called "dirty bombs." CIA profile scenarios of these attacks indicate that such an assault will encompass multiple strikes in classic Erfurthian style. Primary targets to be Houston, Chicago, and London/Oxford.

Apparently the final breakthrough for al Qaeda the ability to use new Iraqi technology to "cloak" the radiation signatures of these devices. The US and Britain mistakenly believing until the middle of last month that their sensors would acquire these devices in time to neutralize them. Documents captured in Afghanistan now refuting this previous conclusion.

Millions to die in the Third World War as America struggles with the decision to carry the battle to Iraq. Recent polling showing the start of an American lethargy setting in concerning the so-called war on terror. Combined with the rapidly approaching Christian holiday season, this new perspective has Western leaders rattled.

Dry is good and wind is better...

"Allah's Suitcase" to remake the world in a blinding flash of light and thunder as the Islamic entente harnesses the power of the atom to bring the West to its knees.

There is no defense for this type of attack.

The forces of freedom on the move. Europe trembles.

Actually when Allah's suitcase goes off it will cause the melting of the kaaba stone. As the kaaba goes ... so will the middle east

Don't ask me. Cause I am really radical. I support interment for recent middle eastern/Islamic immigrants until the nuclear threat can be assessed. I lot of people poo poo thinking that nuclear capability is out of the reach of terrorist organizations but I don't think so. I work at a small software company and we regularly compete with enormous companies that have 10000 times our resources and win. Assymetrical warfare requires thinking out of the box. Which the terrorist have demonstrated that they are willing to do.

Lemme give you an example. Do you think that the failsafe mechanisms on a nuclear device created in the 60's can withstand a cryptoanalysis attack by a modern day computer? Do you think that 20 year cipher will hold up? I can tell you it won't. Security is based on the percieved sophistication of the attacker. I can tell you right now that a 20 year failsafe mechanism on any type of nuclear device could not withstand an attack by a well funded attacker today.

Re #3 Either they are paid to do it or the world rests on the blind faith to a dogma, like everincreasing bull-market. Many times they are both. Those who butter their paycheck hate these pesky info. I know that many people's self-worth comes from being "mainstream", a part of the herd. You have to remember that there are many here whose only objective is to control agendas.

Especially after last presidential election, people noticed that this forum may have some influence and sway momentum in some critical moments. They were sucessful in driving out some good old timers, intelligent ones, even though their opinions I sometimes dismiss. These "Apparachiks", will make "BearBottom" proud. Every one who they do not like becomes atomatically "libertarians", code word for clueless spoilers. Do not fall into their trap. Their purpose is to getting under your skin, and make you lose your temper and utter nasty words. Then they push abuse button and purge you out of the forum. The same tactic Demo's used against Clinton opponents. This is nothing to do with exchange of opinions, not even the heated exchanges. They all stay technically within guidelines and work in groups. There are here to enforce "discipline" and "unity".

Ordinarily I think DEBKA makes it all up. However, in this case they are probably right.

The question is whether America should fear such weapons. The answer is bring it on, Spawn of Satan.

Even if they manage to set off 1000 of these radioactive pipebombs, they will not achieve their objective. Instead they will manage to convert a shocked and saddened but resolute America into a powerfully wrathful and vengeful America.

You don't want to see that, Terrorist Group of Global Reach [TGOGR].

Homeland Defense doesn't want to talk to thorny issues like these. I for one do not believe that the terror is over by these fanatics. That why we ALL should be vigilant for anything that may be suspicious.

Debka says: The cause of death was not released, any more than the dead man's identity.

I don't think is true. Debka appears to be referring to Muhammed Butt, and he was reported to have died of a heart attack.

Now the official report might have been false (I have no idea), but it's not correct to say that a name and cause of death were not released. As things stand, though, I just don't believe Debka on this. (Is there really any evidence that he died of leukemia, or did Debka just say that?)

Of course, if there's a second person, other than Butt, who died anonymously in custody after showing symptoms of gingivitis, that would be interesting.

I hate to say so but I agree with you. I think that this goes hand in hand with the deletion of contoversial posts. For example. This post was deleted from the sidebar for now apparent reason that I can see other than that the material was controversial and may make people uncomfortable. I guess I could add that it directly cotradicts Tom Ridge. However, I cannot find a source for that.

"Suitcase" weapons need periodic maintenance. What you write sounds plausible, but how about some more sources to back up your comments?

""""""""Do you think that the failsafe mechanisms on a nuclear device created in the 60's can withstand a cryptoanalysis attack by a modern day computer? And the "failsafes" have nothing to do with computers. Think people! jesus!

Everyone who thinks that if Tom Ridge and GWB new of a specific nuclear threat they would tell the public raise their hands!

Let's assume that they are 80-90% percent sure that one or more devices have been smuggled into the US but they had NO IDEA where they were: Who thinks they would:

A. Keep Cheney and Bush seperated fearing a decapitation attack, say nothing and look for them quietly.
B. Go on national television and alert the public about the situation.

I'd say B, but then again, it's kind of a catch-22 isn't it? Silence or denial=guilt, but you can only deny if it's not true in the first place. Kind of sucks that way.

Not to mention that some of the nukes-for-sale in the former Soviet Union might come with the codes as part of the deal, just like illegally copied software is sold with the license keys in a separate text file added to the CD.
