I'm putting aside money for my three-year-old's college education, but I'll be damned if one penny will go to any school that does not teach American History in a positive light, or that refuses to fly the US flag.

I'm pretty sure that college will be obsolete anyway by the time she is ready, and this kind of nonsense is only one more nail in the coffin of a 19th century college system that makes increasinly less and less financial sense.

Sodexho Marriott, which runs the dinning hall, also released an apology, but stated they had reason to remove the flag because it was "insensitive to all the international students that live in the dorm."

Somehow, they made it through Immigration without geting offended.

How senstitive is it for foreigners to expect their host country to forfiet its identity?

I am very proud of our nation's College Republicans. I am a former Chairman of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette College Republicans.

Notice that of all the colleges that banned patriotic displays, none were opposed by College DemocRATS.

The people running these campuses need to be offended. Lest you have any doubt how your thousands of dollars are being wasted, I attended a Catholic University 25 years ago. I had an Iranian poli sci prof who hated the U.S. When I repeated standard U.S. government defense policies, he told me "only a redneck from the Southern U.S. holds such reactionary views" (I am from NJ). Also, the feminist professors were pressuring the female students to become lesbians,to prove they didn't need men for anything. I mean pressuring to the point of tears. These lefty loonies are still there in force and need to be cleaned out.

One of our local colleges took down the international flags that represented the countries of origin for the international students that attended there and replaced them all with American flags. I thought it was cool.

Ah yes, Marquette University, where the politically correct flapping turkey (or whatever their mascot is now) makes it's home where the proud Warriors once stood. Marquette, where a democrat multiple voter gets extra credit in civics classes. Marquette, where the only good conservative is a dead conservative. Marquette, where historically significant buildings are bulldozed in the middle of the night to make way for new student unions (where democrat multiple voters can organize the next election fraud). And now they ban the flag. Somehow I'm not surprised.

I swear that my children will never pass the place without cursing it as an example of everything that's wrong in this country.

God Save America (Please)

"...stated they had reason to remove the flag because it was 'insensitive to all the international students...'"

"...it would create an 'exclusionary environment and nullify campus claims of diversity.'"

"[The administration] felt that it showed too much nationalism or patriotism in respect to foreign students,"

Residence hall directors in Emmons Hall told students they had till the end of the day to remove patriotic symbols which some considered "offensive"

You know what? To hell with the easily offended. International students should go home if they don't like it. FLY OLD GLORY!

It is interesting. Last night at the University of Dayton where I teach, I was going to a small dinner with a group of students at one of the large dorms. As I approached the dorm, I noticed that in almost every single window was a small American "flag" printed by UD Print and Design and handed out on Sept. 12 or Sept. 14. There were NO anti-war or nasty, pointy-headed intellectual, left-wing rants.

UD has several deficiencies, but praise God for UD and its patriotic students.

If the representation of our country is so offensive, they should go home.

What a bunch of @ssholes! And what about the people who are offended by the removal or banning of the flag? Don't their feelings count? Oh, I was forgetting that anti-American Americans don't give a damn about how other people feel.

When I read this article some thing spring out:

insensitive to all the international students that live in the dorm

Then what the hell these people do in the US? If they hate it, why do they come over? If they don't like the flag that represents the freedom that the US gives to it's inhabitants, they should leave now instead of forbidding Americans to be proud of their nation. How can anyone even try to stop people from feeling proud of their own nation in their own nation?

The removal of the American flag from a campus bus was enforced at Lehigh University. Vice Provost John Smeaton's decision was to promote "understanding." The school's newspaper, The Brown and White, supported the ban by bringing up seemingly irrelevant issues such as Muslim heritage and Arab Americans making contributions to society.

This is the biggest piece of cr@p I have read in weeks! They talk of "understanding" and muslim heritage (tolerance?), but they forbid others the display of their heritage, the US heritage! And what muslim heritage? Do they mean the terrorism that is supported by many muslim nations (Iraq, Iran, Libia, Syria, Saudi-Arabia, Sudan, Indonesia, Afghanistan and so on), or the rights non-muslims or woman have in these countries? No, the real reason for them to hate and burn the US flag is that they hate the things it stands for, freedom for all, justice for all, equality, freedom of speech and religion.

To all the people that want to ban the US flag: many have fought and died defending it. If you cannot appreciate the sacifice they made to make you live in freedom, you are not worth fighting for!

To all Americans who are proud of living in such a fine land:

OUR FLAG STILL STANDS FOR FREEDOM AND NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT AWAY!

" it had been a long time rule that no flags could be flown because of fire safety."

Simply amazing! These tyrants are simple and ignorant.
