Isn't this the same crowd that Klintoon had researching gun control for the past 8 years instead of looking for cures to aids, e-bola or space herpes???

Snatcher isn't even the Surgeon General. He was never confirmed after this recess appointment. Where do they find these people anyway. We've gone from Coop (Aides is gonna wipe out the heterosexual race) to this guy. None of them seem to have two brain cells to rub together.

Sour grapes from someone who will be leaving soon...his term ends and he was not asked to remain.

He is no doubt also left out of the loop because as a Clinton recess appointment, he cannot be trusted with information on the War on Terror.

Probably hoping he gets to testify before someone in the Senate...probably Ted Kennedy. Mark my words, Kennedy will call for an investigation.

Of course this has all sorts of opportunity to backfire, but they are desperate to find something to hang on President Bush. Ha!

The very same. This so-called "public health" facility is nothing more than another socialist front group, funded by taxpayers dollars, and advancing an increasingly leftist agenda. Since every issue contains a public health dimension, suddenly the CDC gets to be very political. And who do you suppose holds its political debts? Why, the Left, of course. The very people who provide it with funding and continued media support. So where do you suppose these "scientists'" allegiances lie?

I forget who this guy took over from, but weren't they both Clinton appointments? And if they've had the duty for the last six years, why didn't they clean up the place before now? Hugh????

Surgeon General: CDC Labs a 'National Disgrace'

Satcher, who previously served as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said the whole US public health system needs an infusion of cash.

Well, well. As the former director, Satcher ought to know. After all, it happened on his watch! And of course, "an infusion of cash" will solve all the problems he left behind. It always does when dealing with Liberals.

If things are really this bad, the Clinton Administration can add another presidental failure to their list.
Clinton obviously wasn't qualified for the presidency.
Running the country isn't quite the same as running a whore house. Someone should have told him that.

Wasn't Dr Satcher appointed by WJClinton"s regime.

Where was his voice in that period or did he have a sore throat?

Here's what I'd hope President Bush would do.....

Thank you Mr. Satcher. YOUR TIME IS UP! I have now appointed (FILL IN THE BLANK WITH A COMPETENT SURGEON GENERAL) to take over. Nice knowin' ya.

US Surgeon General Dr. David Satcher said that the United States should be ``ashamed of the condition of the laboratories at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.''

Perhaps it is the folks who have been running the CDC that should be ashamed. I really am getting sick and damned tired of these lousy, stinking bureaucrats continually begging for money. If they can't do the job, get the hell out.

That outfit is infested with liberal ideologues, and I can't personally believe a thing they say. It's a 'National Disgrace'alright.

We have a problem so we have to throw more money after it to solve the problem. Nuts!! Anybody ever make mention of the fact that the military is the only agency in the Federal Government doing an excellent job in this War On Terror and many of them have to live on Food Stamps and live in substandard housing? Why do we have to Federalize airport security people so they can get better pay and therefore do a better job? The checkers working on 9/11 did everything they were supposed to do and what Federal rules required of them. Why are we federalizing them?

Don't forget, the CDC proposed that higher taxes on beer prevents Aids in teenagers. I can't quite remember if that was before or after Surgeon General Elders son was busted for cocaine.

I live near the CDC. It's located about 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta near the Emory University campus. It's also located one block from the Emory University Hospital and from one of the largest children's hospital in the SE. There is no way the CDC can be properly secured in its present location.

It's one of only two location in the world storing smallpox samples (the other being Russia). It's also storing Ebola samples and who know what else.

The building is located right next to the street with no fence around it.

I drove by a week after 9/11 and saw only one police car in front of the CDC. I went by a few weeks later and three police cars were in front of it. Now cement barriers have been added.

The CDC needs to move out of Atlanta, somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
