Mass only elects home grown scumbags, Lord knows we have enough of them. By the time the primaries came Reich would only be able get to the second floor, the feeding frenzy would be fun to watch.

Interesting that all of these former clinton-suck-ups are running for office. Could it be that they have been summoned by "the queen" to assist her in her bid to become president? Put all of these people in governorships and there's no telling how much voter corruption could take place.

Being Governor is a TALL order. Reich will never stand HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE the other candidates. I SHRINK from the thought that he can win or that he will DWARF his opposition.

I've got to agree with you %100, gov. Reich was one of the few members of the Clinton administration I could respect. Sure, I disagree with him on probably any issue that comes down the pike but he's very upfront about his liberalism and he calls a spade a spade. He wasn't afraid to disagree with Clinton publicly when he disagreed and he didn't cover for him over all the Monica stuff. That's probably why he didn't last after Bubba's first term.

I can disagree with a flaming lib and still respect them as long as they are intellectually honest and not a rabid lockstep partisan.

TJeff: I'm sure you'll recognize my handle as a quote from Jefferson, so we obviously share a similar outlook on the role of government. But I think you're going a bit far in calling Reich evil and a communist. A watered-down socialist? Yes, I'd buy that.

But a communist? Do you sincerely believe, for example, that he would like to abolish the Constitution, end free elections, political parties, freedom of speech, etc., and formally vest all power in a one-party government? I don't. Nor do I believe that he wants the government to directly own the means of production, another central tenet of communism. He is content, through government regulation and taxation, to have government exercise considerable control over business, while leaving most enterprise in private hands.

Yes I do. I believe that because of the things I have heard him say and because of his writings, a point I made in an earlier post. Can you tell me specifically what makes you think otherwise? Have you read (or are otherwise sufficently familiar with) the papers he wrote in college and has refused to repudiate?
