I caught that small piece in the WSJ on this race today. Apparently this one has the Dems frightened as it could be the second major city race where the erosion of their Hispanic base is revealed. Secondly, the Dem has allegedly ended up pitting blacks against Hispanics due to the way he has framed his campaign.

I'm relatively new to the Houston area and I have no idea how such a poor speaker and a person who can't put together coherent sentences got elected in a city like this. He was pathetic tonight. Unfortunately, he's guaranteed 30% of the vote because he has a (D) after his name.

Geesh, I make one remark simply ASKING if his blue eyes are real and I get flamed as a bigot? Calm down, ya attack dogs. I've questioned whether some "ANGLOS" have "real" blue eyes too. LOTS of people with brown eyes wear CONTACTS. This isn't to say they are bad people or anything The fact that hispanics rarely have blue eyes is a genetic trait and NOT a racist remark. Just as some blacks have white skin, so too do SOME hispanics have blue eyes. But it's certainly not very common in either case. Even if those baby blues of his are real, they seem pretty gosh darn BRIGHT in the photo. I have green eyes and they are never that bright. Who's to say he's not wearing contacts?

I just got in from the debate. If you thought Brown was bad on TV, he was 100 times worse in person. Anybody who saw it on tv probably heard the moderater ask the audience several times to withhold noise and applause until after the closing statements. It had nothing to do with people applauding for their candidates. The noise he was talking about was all of us LAUGHING at Brown making a complete idiot of himself!
