Geesh, I make one remark simply ASKING if his blue eyes are real and I get flamed as a bigot? Calm down, ya attack dogs. I've questioned whether some "ANGLOS" have "real" blue eyes too. LOTS of people with brown eyes wear CONTACTS. This isn't to say they are bad people or anything The fact that hispanics rarely have blue eyes is a genetic trait and NOT a racist remark. Just as some blacks have white skin, so too do SOME hispanics have blue eyes. But it's certainly not very common in either case. Even if those baby blues of his are real, they seem pretty gosh darn BRIGHT in the photo. I have green eyes and they are never that bright. Who's to say he's not wearing contacts?

BTW, my grandmother was 100% Italian and people would ask if her whole family was so light skinned. We did NOT take it as an "ignorant" question given the fact their ARE a lot of dark skinned Italians. Think about that one.

I do not give a good damn what color his eyes are. He is a conservative Hispanic Republican and can speak Spanish and is the next mayor of Houston. The Hispanics are culturally very conservative. My party (the Republicans) need to wake up and cultivate, endorse and properly fund the conservative Hispanics. They should belong to our side but in our stupidity they (as a group) belong to the Demonrats.

"Hispanic" simply means they speak Spanish as their original language. Hispanics come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes.

They're not contacts. My lawyer (who's also one of my best friends) had Orlando for a teaching assistant at UH, and they attended first-year law school together. He has told me that Orlando is in fact what he presents himself to be, including the eyes.
