A friend of mine says that GW Bush's Presidency was in trouble before 9-11. I thought he was kick'n their butt left & right. I know he got the tax cut, now I need more fuel for this fight. What else has he done???

He placed well-qualified persons in positions of authority and responsibility...ask your Liberal friend to sit down with a pencil and compose a probable Gore Cabinet...then ask if he/she would be more comfortable, post 9-11, with that bunch of freaks in charge.

The grown-ups are back...I think your friend needs a time-out...or more likely, a sound spanking.

Restored dignity to the oval office. Put educated, intelligent people in cabinet positions. Restored hope to the electorate that something will be done about the failing public schools. Gave us some of our money back. Is getting our freedom of speech back from the mean, liberal crowd who would not let us talk about God. Laughs at the liberal media for us. Is restoring dignity to our military, whom Billy Blythe 'loathed.'

Prior to 9/11? Well, he's certainly restored the decorum of the presidency (some of us wondered if such were possible after, um) ... he's taken head-on the economic issues we're faced with, issues which arose long prior to his administration ... he's strengthened our ties with other nations, differences over missile defense and Kyoto, notwithstanding ... he's demonstrated himself to be way above the selfish practices of the previous administration and clearly is committed to the best interests of the nation ... he has a close, functional family unit from which to derive support, key to the success of anyone whether in a position of great power or otherwise ... there has been no waco, no ruby ridge ... no one has died under suspicious circumstances within his immediate circle of confidants and "friends" as of yet ... the man's loyal to his wife and family, and does not use them for his own political purposes ... there's a lot more, but time constraints prevent me from enumerating them now.

Hopefully you can prevail upon your friend that he/she is betting on the wrong horse. Good luck.

Good things? Stuck up for he 2nd amendment, brought honesty back to the executive branch, talks about God, cut taxes among others, looks out for military.

Bad things? Grew government, spending money like a bi-polar teenager at a flea market with her daddies credit card, signed the "Patriot Act", has done NOTHING about illegal immigration.

Politics is, among other things, getting people to follow you. When Bush took office, he could not count on the Socialists and Lawyers support of his agenda. He now has those two groups against him, along with the press.

Bush will have problems with his enemies because they are enemies, not because of his performance. Daschle has come out as the consummate back stabber, posturing one way and acting another. There's good information on this.

The Dems have basically given Bush the international war political arena, but continue to do everything they can to make him look bad in the national arena.

What type of persons would do that? Bush was in trouble because of his enemies!!

Bush refused to sign the Kyoto Protocals, which would have cinched our industrial plants back to '91 levels and collapsed the economy. With 9-11, it would have spun the world into a severe depression. Gore would have signed it. China and India would be immune.

Gore's plan was to raise taxes, introduce mass transit by restricting domestic oil production so gas would go to $3/gal, forcing urbanites to mass transit. In any case, no tax rebate, which slowed the coming recession.

No meaningful check on the coming social security collapse, if Gore were in. No privatization plan, just a lockbox. The first budget deficit to come along, the Democrats would blow the lock off that box.

Tipper would be as big as a HOUSE by now, and we'd have to fall asleep with the vision of her in an old cheerleader's uniform chasing after us all.

Uhm...before 9-11, the Bush had been in the office for 231 days...

Somewhere around day 120 or so, he lost his Senate majority advantage.

tax cut, decorum to the office, a succesful military campaign, approval ratings off the chart, united a divided America after a debacle of an election, vacation, has pretty much rendered the Clintons and Gores as footnotes in American history.

Ask your buddy there what he has done in the past 231 days.
