ISLAMABAD, November 27 (PNS): Deploring the massacre of prisoners of war in Mazar-e-Sharif, President General Pervez Musharraf has urged the world community to persuade Northern Alliance to abide by UN charter on POWs.

This he said during his meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Makiko Tanaka here Monday at Chief Executive Office. The visiting Foreign Minister called on him along with the members of her delegation. She also delivered a special message from Japan Prime Minister to President Musharraf in which he has expressed best wishes for the people and government of Pakistan assuring that Japan will extend full cooperation and assistance in the development of Pakistan. Foreign Minister Abdul Sattar was also present on the occasion.

President Pervez Musharraf apprised Japan Foreign Minister of details about the current situation in Afghanistan, problems facing Pakistan due to influx of Afghan refugees and economic situation of the country.

During the meeting, President said that Pakistan wants a broad based government representing all ethnic groups in Afghanistan hoping that the upcoming conference of Afghan factions in Bonn will play a vital role in this regard. Only a broad based government backed by Afghan people and having friendly relations with neighbouring countries can ensure lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan, he maintained.

Expressing concern over the massacre of the prisoners of war in Mazar-e-Sharif, he said that the brutal killings have shocked every body. He called upon the world community to ensure respect of international laws by the Northern Alliance forces in the case of surrendering Taliban.

President while thanking Japan for the assistance provided to Pakistan in critical situation said that the act of lifting of sanctions by Japanese government would help strengthen the economic and trade ties between both the countries.

Commenting on the prevailing situation in the region, he said that Pakistan is desirous of durable peace in South Asia and believes in the settlement of all issues including Kashmir with India at the negotiating table in peaceful manner. India has made an abortive attempt to take advantage of situation with reinforcing troops alongside Pakistan borders, he regretted.

He urged the world community to help resolve the disputes including Kashmir and Palestine. In order to ensure supremacy of justice and elimination of terrorism, the settlement of these issues is imperative, he held.

Japan Foreign Minister assured President that her country would continue to help Pakistan in economic and social sectors for alleviation of poverty and development of uplift projects. It will also continue to provide financial assistance for rehabilitation of Afghan refugees, she affirmed. Japan will play leading role in the development of Afghanistan after broad-based government is put in place in the country, she declared.

End.

Now don't everyone jump on Musharraf right away. Right now he is the only difference between a moderate Muslim country and an extremist Islamic nation with nukes. Time is running out though:

Time is running out for Musharraf

The real question is does he have a real plan in place to handle the Islamic jihadists in his country?

He is doing what is politically necessary for him to stay in power. Musharraf is in a VERY VERY tight spot. Anything could happen.

Maybe Musharraf would like to build some prisons for these Jihadists. I'm sure with Pakistan's thriving economy they could support the millions a year as well on maintaining these Jihad lovers.

My guess is that Musharraf has known all along what the fate of the Pakistanis in the North would be. He has to be seen by his people to be defending the interests of their blood relatives. Right now his big worry is a major move by alQaeda/Taliban forces across his border with US forces in hot pursuit.

He needs to shut his pie hole. These radical Islamo-bastards hack off the heads of their prisoners. Ruthless warriors deserve a ruthless D-E-A-T-H.

I see, what about a prisoner's revolt and terrorism? That hypocritical ugly thug and illiterate in International law out to figure that international law does not apply when the enemy does not respect international law itself. War is war, damn it. What the heck are those crocodile tear unrepenting hypocritical terrorists think?

Mussa better shut up or be nuked with a war crimes tribunal himself.

I think it has ended, hasn't it? They're all dead. As someone noted, Musharraf's timing is wonderful.

I dunno... Doubtful.. Keep them divided and their leaders jailed. Won't work forever though. It's not the Islamic Jihasist he is worried about. It is his own Army, and the ISI. They are not happy about seeing their proxy, the Taliban, wiped out.

General Musharrif!

What you are witnessing is a normal consequence of Pakistan NOT educating its own children, and instead permitting its youth to be BRAINWASHED in the Saudi-funded maddrasahs.

It is YOUR FAULT, Pakistan, your fault ALONE, that you care SO little about YOUR children that you have no educational system where they can learn reading, writing and arithmetic - and perhaps a few skills which will allow them to partake as constructive happy productive adults in the 21st Century.

It's downright SILLY in one respect for you to complain bitterly about the problem YOU created. It also is EVIL that you permit this mass programming of innocent children. If you are going to permit the CULT OF DEATH AND HATE free reign with your children, then you will experience the natural consequences a few years hence.

Let this be a lesson to all those leaders, both religious and secular, who teach their children that the USA is the "Great Satan", and allow them to brainwashed by Islamist CULTS that the be all and end all is to go to Paradise via the slaughter of innocent American civilians.

Whadda buncha LOSER countries exist on our planet.

"Children! REPEAT after me: 'When I grow up, I want to be a kamikaze pilot KILL AMERICANS.'

LOSERS !!!!

Musharraf did not show much concern last week when these Pakistani fanatics were executing Afghani Taliban who wanted to surrender. He does not show much concern this week for the Afghanis and the American who died because they accepted a false surrender from these same fanatics.

You can not domesticate a rabid dog and you can not take fanatics willing to commit suicide in order to kill you, even after they surrender, as P.O.W.'s.

These Pakistani died in the field of batlle. They simply chose to make their field of battle a prison compound.

End Massacre of POW's in Mazar
I think it is a little too late for this.
Shouldn't he have told the POWs to surrender quietly without a fight?

Actually they could use the caves. Seal the ends, with them in it, and leave only air shafts with a way to give them water and food. Permanent isloation.
