This is good news. Not new news, but reaffirming nonetheless. It is just so grand, really, to have men in charge who do not waffle, make nicey-poo, lie, distort and evade the questions thrown their way. Of course they are NOT going to put the troops in danger by giving out information to early, and of course they are going to slam down stupid questions or statements. This is how grown-ups act. Rummy is elevating the press and they don't even know it-yet. (Helen Thomas, take note, Ari has been WAY to nice to you and your pathetic, innuendo laden, creepy questions so loaded with your yearning for the hick from Arkansas.)
I love the big Rum. Rummy encourages my pride in our American military to grow and flourish. What a good man, in the right place at the right time. Thank you President Bush!

"Idiots. I'm surrounded by idiots."Wasn't that a quote from Mel Brooks' "Spaceballs" by the Captain?

"They are being used on front-line Al Qaeda and Taliban troops to try to kill them, is why we're using them, to be perfectly blunt."*This* is why I love this guy! Honest, tough and unabashedly baring a killer instinct against those who have killed a number of us and would like to kill even more of us.
No talk of "degrading their war-making capabilities" and other such touchy-feely crap. This is a real *guy* whose primary concern killing the enemy, and he isn't afraid to show it.

Maybe not football. How about Peter Jennings' job? Then who will we be able to poke fun at? ;^

This is a real *guy* whose primary concern killing the enemy, and he isn't afraid to show it. In other words, an individual who understands that the primary role of the military is to kill people and break things - not an armed "meals on wheels."
I agree with you 100%. Amen!

Three cheers for Rummy!!! This entire situation cracks me up and that he beat Chris Matthews is hilarious!

Then who will we be able to poke fun at? ;^ I was going to say Dan Blather, but hey, pick one.

This entire situation cracks me up and that he beat Chris Matthews is hilarious! I loved the line about logic (or rather illogic) - which I had the pleasure of actually seeing live (on TV, not in person). It was hillarious!

This is so true. I was home sick yesterday, so I got to watch, and I was thinking once again that he is just a joy to behold! I wish they would publish a schedule so I could tape every briefing.
