Yep...one of the many places I lost it was when reading about the flight attendants filling coffee pots with boiling water - to throw on the hijackers. All of the passengers of Flight 93 deserve a hero's memorial.
God bless those brave, brave people and the bravery and composure of the ones who were talking to them on the phones.
More prayer for the families on the way.
I am glad to see this article naming many more of the passengers that have not gotten as much attention as Beamer, Burnett, Bingham, and Glick. I believe they all must have rushed the cockpit together and I believe that none of them were cowards -- But I bet those hijackers were some kind of scared as they were heading into the ground knowing they had failed in their mission and would not get the 72 virgins in Paradise. Even better that those who foild their plan included WOMEN!!
I wish there were some way this article could be mass produced and distributed throughout the Muslim world. The best way to prevent another 9/11 is to get the message across to these lunatics that YOU DO NOT MESS WITH AMERICANS -- WE FIGHT!
(Eleanor Clift and Evan Thomas?!?! If a stopped clock can be right twice a day, I guess even those two names can appear on a story of this caliber.)

Because that is exactly what Bin Laden was hoping to achieve, to start the Holy War that would follow such a reprisal.
Likewise -- I think my reaction would be intense anger.
She (Lisa Beamer) knows she should clean some things out before the new baby arrives, but she doesnt want to touch his stuff. It was on his desk that she found, on a folded piece of paper at the bottom of his in-box, a passage quoting Teddy Roosevelt:
The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena... who strives valiantly, who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, and spends himself in worthy causes. Who, at best, knows the triumph of high achievement and who, at worst, if he fails, fails while daring greatly so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.
NYFD Battalion Chief John Moran (Freeper BCM) Perishes In World Trade Center
"I just came from a memorial service for a good friend who was a Chief on the New York City Fire Department. He also happened to be a freeper. I can't begin to describe how great a guy John was and how much I'll miss him. We talked politics, history and world events all the time. And he loved you guys and told me about the web site. I think he introduced me to it with "Patton's speech to the Third Army",a truly great speech which I just reread here. He also always carried with him Teddy Roosevelt's "Man in the Arena " speech, could someone post that? So long John

"...And there was that one nagging question.
Why had her husband, a man so attached to his cell phone that Lisa had to confiscate it when they went on vacation, not called her from the plane?
Other passengers had called home from Flight 93 to say goodbye and talk to their loved ones.
Why not Todd?THEN ON FRIDAY night, Sept. 14, she got a call from her crisis counselor at United Airlines.
Todd Beamer, it turned out, had made a call; it had been routed to an Airfone operator in Chicago.
The counselor said she had a message for Lisa, but she was worried it might be too much to handle.
Read it to me right now, said Lisa...
In case anyone missed one of the original "Let's Roll!" threads on FR, here is:
Let's roll,'' Flight 93 victim heard to say minutes before crash Pennsylvania field

(If you want OFF - or ON - my (active) "Hugh Hewitt PING list" - please let me know.)
"Let's roll!" Bush ended with a bang, shrewdly adopting the reported last words of Todd Beamer, one of the passengers said to have heroically fought terrorist hijackers on the jet that crashed in Pennsylvania on Sept. 11.
Do you think, now that the words of the passengers yelling that they were going to stop the terrorists has been revealed on the black box, that Rosenberg will write in praise of their actions?
I think we should all forward this article to him so he can read it over and over and over.
I'd bet you do; if the need arose you'd respond in like fashion.
The alternative would quickly answer all other questions.
