The cultists should understand that if this happens again Mecca will be no more.

What a wonderful post for my first read of the week. Tears are running down my face. Just when I think I'm getting over 911, or at least, putting the pain behind me, I read something that stirs it all up again. This is the one for today.
I'd like to think most of us would find the bravery these men and women had in their last moments. If I knew I was going to die, no matter what, but could save other lives if I was proactive, I'd like to believe I'd be proactive. I also think I'd rather be doing something than sitting there in terror.
I also think I'd be pretty pissed off at these 4 boneheads (kindest word I can use and not get kicked off the board) that were denying me and my hubby and 3 kids a happy long life together. I'd rather go out swinging my purse at one of these jerks than crying in a puddle in my seat.
God bless these brave souls. And God watch over their families.

On a humorous note:
IMPORTANT HIJACKER'S SAFETY TIP
Make sure that you don't hijack an airplane with a judo instructor and a rugby player on board.
I'm not sure which one would be more dangerous. The judo instructor would know the cool flash moves...the rugby player would just rip a hijacker's liver out and eat it on the spot :o)

BUMP for a GREAT POST. I can't believe so few people have replied to this. I heard the story on Fox and found it on the web. Then I had to run a search to see if it had been posted at FR.
I don't know how to bump things to the bump list.

When those passengers realized what was going on, they rose
in "rebellion" (the spirit that built America). This was the first
battle of this war on terrorism (before the rest of us were
really even aware). They were soldiers who became
absolute heroes. They fought back....and they
won...sacrificing themselves to thward the hijackers' plan.
They explemplified the spirit of America.
God Bless Them.

Courage in the face of death. I hope there will be a monument to the people on this flight someday in the PA countryside, where people can take their kids to see the true spirit and meaning of being an American.

These brave souls went through every imaginable human emotion within 30 minutes. Osama and his band of infidels will never achieve their goals.
