Libertarian Harry Browne bashes President Bush and America's War on Terror
Fox News: Hannity and Colmes ^ | 11-21-01 | Cuban123

Posted on 11/21/2001 5:34:10 PM PST by Cuban123

What an outrage!, I just finished listening to the 2000 Libertarian Candidate for President Harry Browne on Hannity and Colmes. What an OUTRAGE!. Harry Browne said Bush was a liar that was lying to the American people, that we were bombing innocent civilians that did nothing when it cameto the terror attacks, that we did not try to solve the situation by negotiating with the terrorists, that America was a mean bully, that Tony Blair's document proving Osama did it was all a fraud, and the whole world hated us and most people did not like us!

My point being, everyone IS a slave to something, like it or not. So choose carefully.

Having said that, Harry Browne really got my blood boiling tonight. I certainly hope he doesn't represent most Libertarians

Probably not. He doesn't do well on TV and sound-bite formats. Neither does Howard Phillips of the Constitution party. I've met him and he's a very deep thinker, but you'd never know that from TV.

Browne's got loads of people who have railed on him even when he blasts gun control laws, so you have to realize that there's a bit of knee-jerk factor as well. Additionally, he seems to be more of an embarrassment than a help, kind of like Buchanan, who said things that needed to be said, but were not things that people wanted to hear. Sometimes truth hurts and is not welcome.

Of course, he has the right to say it. And we have the right to say and think what we like about it.

Took me about three months after signing on the net before I realized Liberals and Libertarians were one and the same.

I am a Republican and a conservative but I think your statement is wrong. Every Libertarian is for the absolute minimum of government interference (just like conservatives) ... Libertarians are closer to conservative than liberal (where they push for no drug laws etc.)

Funny thing is that you cannot prove Browne wrong, but simply don't want to believe him. Look at how you are ready to make judgements void of facts. If clinton said the same things you'd never believe hims, but you're willing to believe without queston anything Bush says. Looks to me like you are the Bush version of the clintonite koolaid drinker.

"I realized Liberals and Libertarians were one and the same."

Funny but, the same could be said for the Liberals and Conservatives. Your point rings hollow. The Republicans and Democrats control the government, and it has grown out of control. Or are you satisfied with the size of government?

The Repubs couldn't even make a case to de-fund the Education Dept.

No, you are still a stupid person who has an apt handle. A liar.

I stoopid person. I lie. I igornate people. I dumb. But I know what the LP and Browne have done. Nothing positive.

btw..many of us came on FR with screen names which reflected the times. I came on when Larry Lawrence was the hot topic. That should have toppled Clinton. But it did not. Idiots didn't care. And idiots today do not see the connection between a screen name and what occurred back then. Nor do they see the Harry Browne and at least 50% of the LP are not what they pretend to be. They're shills. DUH!

I hate to say it but imagining Harry Browne or Pat Buchanan as President makes even Ted Kennedy look somewhat reasonable -- at least in the homeland security department. sheesh.

That's the trouble with you Republicans...It's gotten so we can' tell the difference between you and the Democrats...Guess you can't see much difference either...

Unlike Bush's idea of opening the borders and making each terrorists a citizen of the U.S., Buchanan campaigned on the promise that he would ship out all illegal aliens...Likely the attack on our country would not have happened under Pat Buchanan...And that's not the kind of homeland security you have in mind, eh???

Yea, you keep voting for the royality and pretty soon, we won't need to vote at all...They'll just pass on the position to whom THEY chose...Oh, they do that already, don't they!!!

And we have the right to say and think what we like about it.

Sure, and the 'right' to falsely label all libertarains in the porcess, right?

So you're from CA, huh? Do you ever get tired of bending over and taking it in the rear regarding gun control there? As long as California is anti-Constitution, I cannot believe that there are any real patriots there. Don't want to hear any lectures from Californians about freedom because they don't have a clue.

Now THERE's breaking news!

Four types make up our body politic:

Nuts...Kooks...Crooks...and Patriots.

Nuts are the single issue people. Kooks are the people who are disregarded at home and need a soapbox. Crooks, well you know their motivation. Please keep in mind the Patriots are out numbered three to one.

I place this guy behind door number one.

First, Browne is MORE American that any Cuban. Any.

You bastard. I marched in the street with those of Cuban descent during the recount last year in Florida. I din't see ONE libertarian there. Not one. Don't you dare mess with Cubans. If it were not for them, Gore would be president today. You are the ugliest bottom dwelling slug to surface on FR in a long long time.

You are still stupid and stil a liar. If you were simply ignorant and uninformed it would be different. You have repeately ignored facts and have flagrant disregard for the truth. Labeling liberals and libertarians on this thread is proof. You are simply a liar. You, not your party, you.

Do you realise how assinine it is to cling to popularity as a measure of truth? Didn't your parents teach you that following the crowd wasn't always the smart thing to do? Probably not, they never broke you of lying.

Every Libertarian is for the absolute minimum of government interference

If you believe they mean what they say. I don't. Come on, you are not that naive. You live in my favorite town on the planet earth. Las Vegas residents know a con when they see it. The LP is a con. Half the people in it are DNC shills.

You want me to prove that Bush is not bombing innocent civilians -- to prove a negative. Haaaa! You can't be serious. The burden of proof is on the accusation and neither Harry -- or you -- offer any proof.

What the XYZ? I won't attempt to unravel your diatribe. Just stick to the facts ma'am. W has been right on target (just like our jets) since September 11, 2001. If Harry Browne were our president, I'd fear for the survival of our country.

If a Cuban is not an American, he is not an American, he's Cuban. Sorry about that. Are you now supporting hyphenated American titles, especially those that place another country's heritage first before being an American?

Now if you went to enough rallies in November and December, you'd have seen to how many libertarians showed on the front lines. I was there fighting for a guy I didn't vote for.

I suspect you only fight for the rights of thoe with whom you aree and only when it is convenient for you or you get some praise out of it.

You don't like what he said, fine, this is America, where one doesn't have to ask permission to say unpopular things, at least not according to the Constitution.

In the meantime Cuban, keep your repressive attitudes to your bannana republic dictatorship where there is no dissent and Castro gets 100% approval in the polls.

Ummm.....Eagle Eye, Cuban123 simply said what you consider "unpopular". He vehemently bashed someone you happen to support.

If Harry Browne can vehemently bash George W. Bush by Constitutional right, how is it that Cuban123's equivalent bashing of Harry Browne is "repressive"?

Is it your position that the Constitution only protects criticism that Eagle Eye agrees with but that any criticism that Eagle Eye does not agree with is unconstitutional and repressive?

Compose both yourself and your rhetoric. I do have a history here you can search on and see what my position has been. Yours is...well... it is out there now, way out there, and not all that coherent. But that is OK.

You will find out that name calling and mocking screen names does not score any points. If you hang around for a while , you will be ashamed of your first posts.
