What an outrage!, I just finished listening to the 2000 Libertarian Candidate for President Harry Browne on Hannity and Colmes. What an OUTRAGE!. Harry Browne said Bush was a liar that was lying to the American people, that we were bombing innocent civilians that did nothing when it cameto the terror attacks, that we did not try to solve the situation by negotiating with the terrorists, that America was a mean bully, that Tony Blair's document proving Osama did it was all a fraud, and the whole world hated us and most people did not like us!

"I hate to say it but imagining Harry Browne or Pat Buchanan as President makes even Ted Kennedy look somewhat reasonable -- at least in the homeland security department. sheesh."I'm not sure I'd go that far. Teddy is as red as you can get.

You are wasting your time. The mindless, knee-jerk Libertarian bashers rarely, if ever, go to primary sources for their information.
On the one hadn, they;ll accuse us of throwing the elections to the Democrats and that they need our votes, then in the same breath they'll call us some of the most vile and uncivilized names imaginable. No amount of denials will make them stop calling us dopers (while at the same time many conservatives share the same anti-war on drug attitudes!) nor will they actually discss the issues.
The same name-calling smear tactics that the left-wing democrats used with success against the Republicans are thier favorite tool agains L/libertarians. One might thing that Republicans actually love big government, the IRS, gun control, and intrusive government. They damn us for railing aginst it and support every power grab of the current adminstration while trying to make dissent un-American and even illegal.

Many of these Libertarian`s are making pests of themseleves. The one`s like Browne act more like far left Dems, than anything on the right. All I can see they are doing is hurting the Conservative Agenda.

You sound like my wife. She doesn't want to face the facts that there are traitors here in America. We all need to hear both sides or the story/argument. Then we can confront and fight the enemy in a more effective manner.

Took me about three months after signing on the net before I realized Liberals and Libertarians were one and the same. Guess I was stupid not to see it earlier.

Well. Harry Browne does not speak for me. So you had better not paint a broad brush. I did not see the show but will stay up and tune in.
I still prefer Ron Paul, and Rohrbacher type Republicans. Actually they are the only two I can think of that are worth a damn.

I'm on FR while transeferring files to a network drive, no TV nearby. I don't need to hear him to become GREATLY offended when someone with a non-American handle calls all Libertarians un-American. Does it REALLY remind you of someone who gladly sat in an enemy anti-aircraft gun? Or is it merely uncomfortable to hear someone question the President?

"I'll contintue to defend his right to say what's on his mind even when I don't agree with it...just as I would defend YOUR right to do the same."I agree. Freedom of speech is one of the cornerstones of our republic. Having said that, Harry Browne really got my blood boiling tonight. I certainly hope he doesn't represent most Libertarians.

David Dukes, who used to be in the Klan and has run for office as a Republican, speaks for each and every Republican, right? Republicans did not elevate Dukes to the stature of their presidential candidate. The Libertarians did with Harry. If your opinions are in contrast with Harry, then maybe it's time to should ask yourself if want to remain affiliated with people who identify with his views.

Are your views in line with candidate Keyes, candidate Dole, candidate McCain, or cnadidate Bush? 14 months ago there were not very many people thrilled with Bush's positions. Many were saying that he was just saying what he was syaing for public consumption, others were sayiing that they'd vote for him despite his positions because he was electable. Bush had very little suposrt here on FR becaue of his platform which was often hard to distinguish from clinton/algore.
Now, do you support the actions of the Republican part leaders who rigged the impeachment trial so that Schippers couldn't present evidence regarding clinton's treasonous chinese connections? Or a Presidnet who refuses to seek justice for clinton's crmies? (Could it be that clinton and GHW Bush might have something in common regarding Mena, Ak and cocaine?) If not, maybe you ought to be shopping for a new party.

Either we shall become slaves to the state in the name of drug puritanism, or we shall become such slaves in the name of property and environmental regulation. In either event, I remain a slave. Posted on my refrigerator is a quote from the book, Bullwhip Days. It contains quotes from actual slaves who were still living and interviewed by writers in one of the depression works projects. It reads:
"Free? Is anybody ever free? Ain't everyone you know a slave to someone or something-or-other?"

I could vote for that party, is that the one Ron Pauls involved with?
