Would you like to be instantly notified whenever someone flags you responds to one of your posts?

Just click on that, and one should pop up.
Save this URL as a bookmark (in your Internet Explorer) named "Free Republic," and you should be able to start up the "pager" window every time you log on to FR.
JohnRob created this (I think) in order to save system resources, with this "pager" you don't need to use the full "self-search" feature anymore.

If you save it as a bookmark or a favorite, then you can click on that to load FR (instead of typing "http://www.freerepublic.com" into the URL box), and it will make the window pop open, then you can click on the "To return to the forum, click here." thing and it will take you straight to "latest posts"

--thank you and mr. robinson, I tried it out, it works, but I have a question. My system loaded a plugin to play the audio. As it was loading I noticed it was over 100k in size, and all I heard was the ding of the pager, no other sound. I tried the wav file three times, same deal. Is it supposed to be that large? Or is there a very large graphic on the page? I didn't have images turned on,, rarely do, nor javascript for that matter.

Yeah, I too now will get NOTHING done. :)
BTW, I use Opera 5.x and it seems to work ok.

Mayabe that's it. I also run Netscape and needed post 53 or whatever to bring it up right.
