Save this URL as a bookmark (in your Internet Explorer) named "Free Republic," and you should be able to start up the "pager" window every time you log on to FR.

JohnRob created this (I think) in order to save system resources, with this "pager" you don't need to use the full "self-search" feature anymore.

Did you bookmark "perl/notify" or "perl/notify?detach=1"? Because if you just bookmarked "perl notify," the pager is the window that comes up, but it's full-size.

The post notification comes on when you post, even though you are posting to someone else.

Couldn't it indicate what it says -- new posts TO you?
